when i go 8 weeks between resets that doesnt mean i took off JUST 10 hours eah day
last three days was in sleep berth 11.5, 13.5 and 12
last week had a 28 hour break and 2 14 hour breaks with only 5 hours of driving in between
I think it is easier to just keep running on my recap hours too unless I get a job with days off at home
8 days / 70 hours question.

The reset things cost you money. But if you have run 14 hours a day 11-10-03 you will be up against the clock on day 5. If you are running coast to coast that is possible. Taking a 34 hour restart gets you on the road on day 7 with 14 hours to spare. So, if you are the rare driver who runs non stop then the reset is the better way to go. If you are reading this then you are not running non stop.

Honestly no, I don't get paid to rake a 34. I hate taking 34's because I get anxious to start driving again. When I'm on the road I don't like to sit. My dispatcher keeps me moving.
When I'm away from home I'll work every day. I usually do anyway, putting in 16-18 hour days if you count the moment I wake up to when I go to sleep.
Honestly I would rather not be limited. I've missed out on good runs a few times for not having the hours on my 70. I'm out here to enjoy what I do for a living.
Trucking is my life, when I'm home all I think about is the road. I truly am obsessed with trucks and doing a job I love because its the first time I've had one where I feel this way about it.
I stay out 20-25 days on average in order to get a week off. I wanna run as much as possible because I enjoy the drive. When I have to shutdown for a 34 I'm miserable because I'm sitting still for too long.

if you went into it knowing you were going to run for 2/3 weeks before you go home.heck yeah.keep them b-tches rolling.im here to make money and then go home.there is nothing worse than having to sit somewhere in the middle of nowhere waiting for your 34 or for the next set of roll over hrs to fall .i could have been down the road, back home. having to sit for hours, is like a childish punishment."you worked too hard...go sit in the corner and think about what you've done!" As for all those whining cry baby UNION drivers for way back when....well they need days off to count the money they were stealing from the company,as the companys tryed to steal it back.that is all in the past and obsolete now.if you are a driver you drive, then you go home.why sit somewhere jerkin -ff?DrtyDiesel Thanks this.
