I know teaming is what you make of it. My husband and I are adventurous, strong work ethics, and have been planning out as much as we can for this new adventure. We will be enrolling in school soon. We understand that we will probably be training separately for 3 weeks or so and we are prepared.the pamphlets ad the recruiters say that when we are done with our 8 week reasoning we will be making 48cpm. (split) as a team averaging 4-6000 miles. We want to drive. Not have much home time. I want to see this country. I know we can't stop ad smell te roses all the time. I have seen a lot about solo drivers on here with a lot of different companies. Is there anyone out there that teamed for them or is teaming for them? Just wanted to know if they keep u goon g and how many miles you average for real. I'm trying to be prepared for what lies ahead.

They seem like a solid company for starting out. Great opportunities to run like crazy and make good money. Am I in it all for the money? No but it sure helps.

I teamed with them. Good money and good miles. Excellent choice for a husband/wife team. The .48cpm is only if you have the hazmat endorsement so make sure you get it. You get paid that for all loads.

The only reason I am not teaming now is because I can't find a decent co-driver from my area.

BTW, if you go to the DAC report section and look up USXpress you will find an ongoing thread by a h/w team. It will give you a great understanding of what is involved.

To be prepared you need an open mind and keep a good attitude. Use your down time for laundry, showers and extra rest. Enjoy the ride!

Question ,48 cpm split ,means each driver gets 48 cpm for the miles he/she drives ,right or 24 cpm for each mile the truck moves

trying to understand this , my wife and i are looking to get our cdl next summer ,doing research

That is correct. My husband and I are going to be teaming do as a couple we will be making .48 with USX if hired on and we both have our hazmat endorsement. (which nowadays is a given)

By the way... This forum is fantastic for information. Look at the threads. Look at the articles. If you don't see what you are looking for... Ask. The people that respond generally have tons of experience first hand and they will help you. Apparently there is no stupid question, or too many times the same question is asked. They all seem great!!

STap, couple of things to remember about USX team pay package. First, the .48 is the non per diem rate which means you will be taxed more. Second, this is all you make at USX. No bonuses. No vacation, safety bonus or fuel mileage rewards. .48 is .48. Every team starts at the same rate, good or bad. There are lots of hazmat team carriers. Look at several and truly understand the pay package. You are only seeing the .48 and don't know what it truly is. Good luck.

Oh I understand that I will be taxed more. I will need a good informed accountant to help recoup some of that. I absolutely was not even thinking bonuses. I've been following several people from this forum and they seem to be doing pretty well for themselves. I have also been chatting with several about this per diem. Been doing some research. I really don't think I want to go that route. So I have been looking at the gross pay. .48 cpm. Nothing more. Out of all the companies that hire fresh out of school this one seems to be better than most. I am not expecting my job to be easy nor do I expect to never be unhappy with the way they do things, but is that ever the case in any industry? We are going to give this our best. If we feel this is not a good fit then we can always move on like so many truckers do. Thank you for your help. I value everyone's opinion.

Wego4ut, it would be great for prospective new drivers if you could break down the pay package on both companies side by side with specifics. STap, it is good to talk face to face with experienced drivers out in their element. Most drivers are more than willing to share information and you can make your decision completely informed and choose based on your financial needs and peticular situation. And asking for important matters in writing or getting copies of what you agree upon is a good protection for you.
