If it runs good with bypassing filter I would install new one as u r going too, if it then still has probs check for air in fuel, sometimes the fittings (inlet outlet on the fuel filter housing) suck air, I think from memory they have a o ring that can crack and allow air into fuel system

what i did notice is that there were some fittings loose when i loosened the lines to reroute, mainly the ones near the pump which have a jam nut type of deal to lock them into place.

ok a little more help with this guys the truck smokes white and smeels like oil no doubt about, smokes thin but noticable at idle and when you get on it thru the gear she smokes more then lightly but very noticable.

so i went checking into what i think might be the turbo, now the turbo even tho theres no guage on the dash for boost pressure shes boosting you can feel and here turbo working. But the exhaus pipe under the pass side seat which is a piece of FLex tubing you can notice the pipe wet with oil on the bottom side of flex and the top exit of tail pipe you can also notice a little wetness as if it was oil as well. I havent pulled the downpipe or intake elbow off the front of turbo to check for residue to see if it really is the turbo or not.

ALSo would like to add engine has no blow by and is not throwing any compression out oil fill or oil dip stick leading me to believe that its not a piston ring issue.

it has what appears to be a HOLSET turbo on it like an HX50 or something looks small but i cna be wrong, is there anoter turbo i could use in replacement from any other cummins application????looks like it has t4 flanged turbo...

I didn’t know a M11 could come with a mechanical fuel pump. I can’t find a L10 engine so I’m wanting to convert a M11 to mechanical fuel pump, using the pump and injectors (or whole head) off my L10 to switch it over to mechanical. I’d like to get some info from you about your engine, please. You can call if you’d like 931-619-7006 thanks for anyone’s help on this proposed conversion.
