I was let go by C.R. England for an accident they said I could have avoided. I now have a preventable with no injuries and will have to look up those companies you guys just posted. Thanks.

I loved working for Watkins. You can't beat that 100% drop and hook, 24/7. When I started with them, I had to run team and it was 10 out, 2 off. The last 3 years, I was lucky to have a solo bid run. Mon-fri, 9 pm-5am, off weekends. I made $56k. There were guys making more money, but my home time was great, lots of time for my kids.

Yes I hear you on that, that was one of things we loved too...100% Drop n Hook .,..you just cannot beat that, we were with them for 2 years. The thing is we are now spoiled because of this...~lol~, we did not want to be involved with shippers/receivers again and decided the only way to go was flatbed...I kn ow we have to deal with them in flatbed but hopefully it is not as bad as reefer/dry van.

Good luck in you ventures !!

Well, you didn't have to get out of bed that day.

Another option to get away from the shippers\recievers is hauling hogs, lol. I got hired by Gurney and just got back from my orientation trip. Not a bad job and as close to working at Watkins as I'm ever going to get. $40 less a day than I was getting, but still home daily and not living in a truck for peanuts. :)

    Hey pumkin,

Do they even HAVE governors on their trucks? They fly by me like I'm standin' still all the time.

Are you running Milford to LA?

I am running Vegas to La. Every truck seams to be governed different. I have been in two, one was 68 and the other was 75.
