we are still not 100 % sure that he did not pick up the load, it would make no sense for him to go to canton and then head back without the load. i am calling tomorrow to make sure

Parchman is east of and in the middle between Clarksdale and Cleveland, MS on old 49. From Canton you would be going past Yazoo City toward Indianola, not much out there except fields in a lot of the area; and then again Sakib could be going on Hwy 55 toward Memphis. And a lot of different directions that a escaped con could go, I would say the more traveled road would have more cars, but he may have ditched that car and gotten another one later, he could have even dropped down to Hwy 82 and plan on crossing the Mississippi at Greenville, they also have casinos there which would be a good place to get another car. I just hope this is what he did.

Living in MS everytime we heard the helicopters out hovering around we knew that there was another escape, we didn't live by Parchman thank God.

Also if Sakib had left from Little Rock and was heading toward Canton, he could have very easily gone the old roads we traveled on which included going past Yazoo City.

Yazoo has a rather large prison facility itself.

There are several roads that can be taken from the Yazoo area to Canton. None are user friendly for the driver who hasn't utilized them before. One route, even confuses a GPS. Doubtful he took that one though. It would have taken him out of the way.

The thing that sticks out the most, the fact the driver was 90 miles NORTH of Jackson. At a time (2am-3am) that would fit into his p/u schedule.

Only 4 reasons the driver would have been at that location, at that time.

#1. He picked the load up and was headed north with it.

    #2. He was lost.

#3. He was headed someplace else.

#4. He was being forced to drive that way, or someone else was driving.

It's been awhile since I was thru yazoo. So didn't. Know it had a prison. We babe about 30 miles from here.
if he knew the back roads 65 to 82 the other small roads to 61. Some of these were truck driven in the past. Without a clue to where he was heading doesn't help. A car is easier to get around but sticks out like a sore thumb if anyone is looking for it.
just read on that cal life link about a trucker who pixed up a hitch hiker at the truckstop. Hauled him around a few days, fed him, took him home and let the guy sleep in the truck. They got stopped by port authority police after going over GS bridge. Turned out he was an escaped convicted killer. Police found a knee in truckers glove box he said wasn't his. I bet he won't do that again.
