No human truck drivers in 10 years?

    i'm still waiting to convert to the Metric system...... i'm willing to bet that there will be truckdrivers 10 years from now... And talking about striking for better pay :biggrin_25516:

    You did convert to the metric system you just don't know it yet. You realize it when you go to work on any newer vehicle including Harley's. I just wish they would have informed me I would have stopped buying standard tools.

    I wouldnt mind pushing a button every 10 seconds like a train conductor. :lol: Do these trucks back up in any spot possible? I dont see this working at all.

    Really I hope it does take off..Think of it.. If I can control the Truck from Home Base maybe I can sit next to my dispatcher Judy..:biggrin_25519:And ask her up close..."O.K., How the #### am I gonna do this now"?I only have 2 hours left.. :biggrin_2559:

    Yep - not going to happen anytime soon. Perhaps computer assist for safety measures while driving, but in no way will this happen in 10-20 years. There are too many variables in trucking and too many lives at risk = liability.

    The consumer car market will have to be proven before you see this in the industry and frankly I wouldn't buy a car that drives by itself. Would you?

    I doubt a computer can determine how to drive through a screwed up construction zone that weaves in and out of the shoulder and onto on coming traffic and back to the right side again.
