You did convert to the metric system you just don't know it yet. You realize it when you go to work on any newer vehicle including Harley's. I just wish they would have informed me I would have stopped buying standard tools.
-
I wouldnt mind pushing a button every 10 seconds like a train conductor.
Do these trucks back up in any spot possible? I dont see this working at all.
-
Repeat after me...... NO CDL required....minimum wage.

With robot drivers they'll have to be robot lot lizards.
"HELLO DRIVER I WILL DO ANYTHING IN C++."
"HOW ABOUT IN FORTRAN OR BASIC?"
"NO I AM NOT THAT KIND OF ROBOT."cuzzin it, Scorcher21, CAXPT and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm still waiting for my flying car.
CAXPT, LaBubba and formertaxidriver Thank this. -
Really I hope it does take off..Think of it.. If I can control the Truck from Home Base maybe I can sit next to my dispatcher Judy..
And ask her up close..."O.K., How the #### am I gonna do this now"?I only have 2 hours left..
CAXPT Thanks this. -
CAXPT Thanks this.

Yep - not going to happen anytime soon. Perhaps computer assist for safety measures while driving, but in no way will this happen in 10-20 years. There are too many variables in trucking and too many lives at risk = liability.
The consumer car market will have to be proven before you see this in the industry and frankly I wouldn't buy a car that drives by itself. Would you? -
I doubt a computer can determine how to drive through a screwed up construction zone that weaves in and out of the shoulder and onto on coming traffic and back to the right side again.
Pmracing Thanks this.
