I really wish I had something good to say about JCT. I don't. The first thing that was said in orientation is "if you don't like how we do things, go take your 20% down and your 750 credit score and go buy a truck somewhere else." The orientation class avg is 30 people every week! I should have known it then! They say you will "break even" if you get 6mpg, YOU WILL NOT!! And they tell you that you get 2 weeks without fixed expenses when you start, but it's only 1 settlement, and you will already be negative. You will, have to pay for your own DOT physical and drug screen, your first settlement will be -$111.00(YES NEGATIVE), relay so many of your loads that you can't estimate your fuel overages bc you have no idea how many miles you will get payed for, not get the same fuel surcharge as other companies pay (.10 less per mile), do more sitting than a couch potato (for free, bc they do not charge detention pay), bring less money home than a McDonalds cashier, drive a truck that is a total POS, have to fight with them to get any work done to your truck, and WHEN you quit, you WILL get screwed out of every cent they can get out of your maintenance account! You will not be able to afford to go home more than every 6 months or so, if then. You will be treated like a company driver, but bring home less money. You will get nickel and dimed to death. You do not get to test drive or even look at your truck for any length of time before you sign your lease. If there is ANYTHING wrong with your truck you better turn right back around and force them to fix it. Because if you do not do it right then, they tell you (when you quit) that since you didn't "force them to fix it" before you left the lot, you took responsibility for it and will be charged to have it fixed. This is the truth. I wish everyone could see thru the smoke screen the recruiters spout out. Because that's all it is. They are in the business to sell trucks. Hauling freight is secondary to the money they make off of the trucks. for instance, 2010 International Prostar =$507 per week plus your other fixed expenses =666.36 = 2887.56 a month. You will be treated like a company driver, but bring home less money. The Trucks are not mechanically taken care of. They look good on the outside, but that's it. Good luck.

If you had 20% down and a 750 credit score you might not be there the begin with...If you signed a contract to lease a truck without checking out the truck 1st you probably deserve what you get...I got some beach front property for sale in Nevada....

Yea, if I'd had all that I def would not went to JCT. They say the trucks have been completely "gone over" and you should have no problems with it. And when asked why I couldn't check out my truck before I decide, they repeated the whole 20% down and 750 credit score routine. Really wish I'd have left then. But I wanted to buy my own truck and it SOUNDED like a decent option. And I'm not looking for land, thanks anyway. lol

Sorry, but IMHO, anyone who signs on the line, without inspecting the truck they're signing for, gets what they deserve. If they're pushing that hard, it's time to leave.

you only have a few minutes to go over the truck before you sign the lease with them telling you that they are going to fix anything that's wrong with it and not to worry about it. by the time I figured it out the lease was signed and they said they went over the truck and fixed everything. I know I shouldn't have signed on in the first place, but the point of my post was that they are screwing ppl, and there are ppl out there who are just starting to want to own their own truck and such. Just putting out a warning. I'll say I've learned alot, that's for sure.

I drove for JCT for four months. They suck. They tell you its not force dispatch it is. My DM tried to get me fired, because I stuck up for myself. They tell you to run the truck like its your business. But they really want you to be submissive and coward down to them.
