Most of there loads are live both load unload they do have a small amount of drop n hook. As for your time it's all part of the game you learn to use your time wisely. One thing you need to watch is Elogs shippers and receivers can eat up you 14 hr clock. This you will learn from your trainer to hard to explain over the fourm. Central and there paperless logsBout 3 years back they had 2 drivers run over there 11, 2 very bad accidents yes people died. Paperless logs are great at the scale houses but they can screw you on the road.

I was hooked to my trailer for longer periods before. 800-1600 miles, yes live loads but if you're on time that's usually not an issue. I ran a ridiculously long week. Almost 3,500 drive miles. I say, "was" because I just switched to a regional route here the runs are very short but the CPM are higher and there are suppose to be more drop and hook going on... That being said, I ran a load I knew would not make it on time and ended up checking in 5 hours late because I had to wait for the next shift to get here. I wasn't too worried about it because this was a phenomenal week and I didn't think it would be that bad... I've been here since 6am and it's 2246. They have me in front of a door but haven't broken my seal. I have three presets waitin on me and if these people don't hurry up it's gonna cost me money. Moral of the story, NEVER BE LATE!!!Nottoway Thanks this.

Vermont was the beginning of a messed up plan where I mapped out six loads. If you make it up there and have to run 11 for any length of time, go ahead and think of your average speed being closer to 40-45mph, freaking towns every 15 miles or so. Awesome scenery there and in upstate New York right now. (I finished the week with one late load here my dispatcher said, "you'll be close enough just go ahead and run it... 400 miles from 2100 to 0200, lol))

O.k ya'll its time for the 1 bad tip of the day and this is ment for all the newbies. When sleeping at night or during the day always sleep with your head on the passenger side of the cab. Why do this you say? Well heres why when a truck is trying to bac k into the spot on your right hand side that side of your truck is in their blind spot. If the driver is not paying attention or doesn't get out and look and check his distance to you he runs the risk of puting the left rear of his trailer right into your door or cab side right where your head would be when sleeping. You can live with out a foot but not with out a head.
Adra and Arkansas Frost Thank this. -
Is it just me or did you get confused your self? My right hand side is also the passenger side.

Question for those currently working at CRS or have worked...question is concerning Health Insurance. The cost seems to be on par with what I have paid in the Tech sector...actually, the cost is slightly less. Used to pay about $500/mo ($250/pay check...which was every two weeks, so $125/week to put it into CRS terms...) for both Health and Dental. Looking at CRS web site, Health is $89 (rounding) and Dental is $15 (looking at 'Family' pricing since I still have a daughter in College and she needs to be covered..she's playing on a softball scholarship) putting the weekly cost for both Health and Dental at $104/week...or $416/month (using 4wk/mo).
So pricing doesn't seem to be out of line - how is the coverage...do you find that it is good, adequate, ok, terrible (though I guess it would also depend on user experience). When I was first looking at the numbers and seeing the almost $90/week cost, I was thinking that was a lot to pay...however, after looking at some of my old paychecks, $90/week is actually not bad and seems to be the norm.
So with CRS Health plan, is it good or have some of you gone elsewhere (for insurance, not for employment) for Health Coverage.
Thanks in advance for your responses. -
And just how ridiculously fast is this guy backing that he manages to back through your cab and remove your head? I think you're probably 100x more likely to die of CO poisoning from running the heat overnight.

Lol. Can't believe I missed that. I need caffeine...

Not entirely true. It's been proven that people can live without heads in Washington DC for over 200 years.
.......... just sayin.
