I need you guys help picking my second training company. Any and all suggestion will be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for a short training period. A company with great trainer. I don't care about home time. A company with cheap or free rider program would be nice. Most have apu in the trucks. I have roughly 2 months otr experience plus truck driving school.
Suggestions please!

Nope too many trainers, all training because they needed the money, but no one cared to teach.Last edited: Sep 30, 2012

In fairness to those reading this you should add "Companies with over 100% turnover needing newbies today to replace yesterday's newbies that failed " . Do these BFI's give you a bounty on wannabes or what ?

Is it still possible and feasible to find an Owner-Op and/or a Farmer to show new people the ropes and drive either regional or OTR for them?
It couldn't pay any less and couldn't be any more painful.

No bounty; just trying to be helpful. The system may not be perfect to new drivers, but it's a start. Not everyone was born with a CDL in their little hand. When a decent person is unemployed & broke, starting over isn't always easy. Entering the trucking industry isn't easy today as when you and I got into it. I admire and respect those today who succeed, with all the barriers they must cross. These guys deserve to have as many options as possible to get started in this new career. When you and I started all one needed was $8 or $10 to purchase a chauffers(sp) liscense, and boom you're now a trucker. If you have better suggestions for people who are unemployed, broke, families to support, and who want to work, then post your suggestions. Keep in mind, most don't have the money to pay for trucking school at a community college & may struggle financially just to travel to the trucking company school.Newtrucker83, Grumppy, dptrucker and 1 other person Thank this.

Yes, you're right; there's so many it would take forever to track them down. This list I got from this very website.
