I am hopeing to be in orientation soon after Sage school. My cousin who has two years o.t.r. would like to team with me. How does W.S. treat teams? We will be running out of the Salt Lake terminal. Do teams get drop and hook? Are teams required to unload furniture?

    Any answers woulld be great.

    Thank You, and be safe.

There are no easy answers yes you can team yes you will unload furniture but most likely with a team you will have long runs not much unloading etc.

Back in the day, this used to me an amazing place for people from all over the country to read/post/learn/gain information all about wksh.
but then, some newb had this dumb@$$ idea to request that wksh be moved into the Dac section, and have a ton of threads, that usually end up dead within days/weeks.
it was fantastic, hundrads of pages all in one section.... but now you have this....

anyway, as for teams at wks....
first off, they will require you to do your regular 90probation time as a solo drive...tho it is rare that they SOMETIMES team up people straight out of school, but highly unlikly unless your cousin already drives for wksh.
as for the loads.... you will pull whats available... weather its from Salt Lake to Ga, or Conover to W.VA. youll sometimes(tho RARE) will have to unload furniture(again RARE) but one thing to keep in mind is that your a *company driver* not an o/o...so that means you go where they tell you to go.
sometimes youll luck out and get a straight month(s) of coast to coast drop/hooks, but you may also go stuck on a run from NC to CA with 25 stops...

first things first, get in, get past your 90days probation period, and take what they give you weather solo or team.
prove to them your hear to work, and not play around. build a dependable/trusted(lol) relationship with all the dispatchers, in all the areas. keep your nose clean, stay our of trouble, be nice ( no matter what! ) to all the dispatchers.

when at any of our terminals, o/o usually get first loads out, followed by teams followed by solo drivers. however its not uncommon for dipatch to bump o/o to move teams first.

    good luck to you !

Teams have not been split up for quite a while, and unless there seems to be an issue with the team members that training picks up on, you should be able to go out together.

    carsonallen1977 Thanks this.

thank you. My cousin has two years o.t.r. and he would do orientation with me. We need to go out as a team right away, not in 90 days
