Im all for performance based pay as long as its based solely on driver performance. By that I mean don't penalize a driver for things they can't control ie. A late load due to a truck break down or a blizzard

Ohh no dont count on it. Last place i worked your annual raise was based on performance. But they looked at everything right, like productivity, come backs etc. I reconditioned used vehicles and if detail or the paint depo did a slack job it still counted as a come back on you even if there was no mechanical issue. So dont bet on it, when you sit cause they say there is no freight guezs what there goes your productivity and then you will hear sorry your numbers slipped. It will be frustrating i garuntee it and look for it too be a way to just fire you a lot easier, im being pessimistic cause i have delt with this kind of pay structure before and its just aggravating when something that is out of your control affects your pay and the famous line i aways got was its just a number we just use that info to make a m. ore informed decision HA BS. But we shall see how it goes probably the same ole bag of ####. Any who

I agree Lyle. Thats the exact reason I just quit my last job, and decided to go back otr. I was installing Dish Network systems, and it was the exact same thing. Your pay was based only on numbers. If I had a job I could not put in due to trees blocking the line of sight for the dish, it counted against my pay, or if one of my jobs I put in had any trouble within the first 12 days, it counted against my pay, even if it was something that went wrong with the equipment!! Believe me that gets old, quick, fast, and in a hurry!! I hope thats not what this turns out to be....

I thought the whole point of the bonuses were to reward and incourage better performance.

I for the most part have earned all the bonuses offered. I was responding to the repeated statements that seem to suggest that Roehl was going to starting something new by rewarding performance and had not done so in the past.
The two main benefits I see to this new pay plan is
1)Makes it easier to adjust driver
wages in response to fraight/profit levels.
2)Simpler to explain when recruiting new drivers.
