When I turn sharp enough right, only maybe 45 degrees between truck and trailer or sharper, when it is straightening out again there is almost always a loud clunk that sounds like it is coming from the rear end of the truck. It happens way more often when loaded heavy (80k). Turning left does not do it. Had truck wheel bearings done about 50k miles ago, this is just starting to happen now. Also going down the road at speed when not very heavy there is a vibration, almost like a wheel is out of balance. Had a 3 axle alignment also about 50k miles ago. The right rear inside tire is beginning to wear improperly, some of the teeth on the tire have odd angles on the faces. The truck and trailer both just had their annual safety, I had my mechanic look over especially whole suspension system and he said it is all in great shape. The truck has new shocks on the back. When bobtail it feels like one of the wheels is an egg shape.

Look for u-joint or carrier bearing problem.

Also check your driveline slip yokes for being properly lubed and free (not frozen or binding).
I would also drain a sample from both diffs to check for metal content, could have axle side gear/spider gears or cross failing in one of the diffs. -
i was thinking i was the only one that had the egg shaped feel..glad to know im not alone...keep us posted on if u find and fix the problem please

check and see if you might have a cracked inside wheel on the odd wearing tire or loose lug nuts.

I noticed in your avitar your drivind a KW, If it has AG-400 suspension and has more than 500,000 on it it probably needs rebushed mine did.Also if it feels like a egg-shaped tire it just might be,about a month after my rebush mine started "hopping" down the road,after two trips to the suspesion shop they sent me to their tire expert took him about 10 min. to figure out which tire had the broken belt.

If I was a betting man my $ would be on bushing or two being shot get it into a good suspension shop,they will fixx you right up.

Panhard bar? Bushings? Do a visual, see if any rubber is cracked or missing.

What type of suspention do you have? If it is 6-rod becuase the springs are not physicly attached to the axel housing they just sit on top, if you turn sharply the springs "load up" where they sit on the axel, because the springs want the stay straight but the axels are trying to move sideways, until there is too much force and they move where sit on the axel housing. It may sound bad but this is totally normal and how they are designed to work and they may only move a couple of mm but it is enough to make the noise. You can jack up the rear end and grease inbetween them and it will stop.

You can see in this image that it has rubber inbetween the springs and axel housing. Alot of the time they don't have this and the springs just sit on a plate and that is the cause of the bang when turning. I have had 3 trucks with 6-rod and they have all done this.

I have just seen that you said you have replaced the shocks on the back which mean you must have airbags.
