Just a thought for you, when I redone the floor of my classic I found some of that lock together grey kind of rubberized
Flooring about 5/8" thick they put down for kids play areas and gym equipment.
Then put my wood floor on top of that made a hell of a sound deadener and insulator.
Then later when I took the wood floor out and went back to carpet it sure was nice to walk on.
I will never do wood floors in a working truck again.

I have thought about putting in dynamat and a hardwood floor in my star once I rip out the carpet. I finally upgraded my stereo and speakers in the old WS and it made a HUGE difference :D

Update: The project has stalled due to too much work, and I'm hunting a leak. Right now I'm suspecting the windows. I like the idea of the rubber mats under the wood. The insulation is made by Reflectix and I bought it at Lowe's. It's basically bubble wrap sandwiched between thin aluminum and works pretty good, and way better the pitiful excuse for insulation the crazy canucks put in here to begin with.

I bought the mats at either Lowe's or home depot I can't remember now but the nice thing was it was perfect for getting the floor level also because my classic the floor had cross supports and you couldcut these to fit
When the mats where installed they where the same height ad the crossmembers making everything level.

They make that spray stuff for this but it is crazy expensive and makes a mess. Person I saw using it took several days (10+ hours each day prepping) and almost a week cleaning up after putting it in. I like this idea much better. Not that I would ever take a project like this on myself. I would drive it to the shop, say "This is what I want and call me when it is done".

Was thinking of doing this to my volvo and putting in real wood cabinets and making the bed wider. Will be interesting to see the final product Forty! Be interesting to see how much weight it will add to the truck.
