Ok, this picking up every load late that I have been doing all week seems to have taken an even more bizzare turn... or maybe its me, not sure...
I have a meat load right now that was ready and waiting when I got there so grabbed it and ran. Delivers at 7am, I am jn a TS across the street. Won't even have to hit the drive line to get there, which is good because I have 4 whole hours left and don't get any back until Wed. So on the way here I get sent a preplan... pick up in the same town, a mile away... no problem, pick ip time tonight at 1900... twelve hours before I deliver... and I only have 4 hours... it of course delivers in Texas Wed evening... call in and tell them, they say just pick it up after your empty and we'll either reschedule delivery or get a repower... no problem I say.
So now they cancel the preplan and send me another for same basic load just new info... the new pick up time? 0900 today... 10hrs earlier than the time I already can't make and oh btw... delivery also moved up 10hrs...
They better send a truck with a flux capacitor to repower. SMH
Sometimes you just have to scratch your head.

Thank you nascar. I was kind of thinking the samething myself, but am interested in it and maybe get into it after about a year or so. Do you know how much the lease would be once I get started int? Thanks again. Be carefull out there.
-
lease payments are every week, and total costs are in the $800 to 900 range, not including fuel. The newer trucks cost even more.
TRKRSHONEY and isbrob2 Thank this. -
Good morning....I have been lurking in the background for about 2 months here at the aviary. Checking on trucking info, schools and companies. Decided on Stevens 3 weeks ago, here at Lonestar in Houston Tx. I have completed school here, CDL A done. I was supposed to start at Dallas last Sunday, but got mugged just before class started, and postponed Dallas for a week to get teeth fixed. I am going for tanker endorsement later this week. I have a few questions for the veterans here please. Do I need hazmat to drive tanker at Stevens, and can I request tanker? Is there parking for personal cars at Dallas yard? I don't want to take the greyhound from Houston.

Can't help with the tanker questions but yes there is a lot for cars... just to the fight of the guard shack.
Sorry to hear about the mugging, hope you were not seriously hurt.YukonMark Thanks this. -
Thank you TLeaHeart. You, Emulsified, and nascar and a few others have been very helpfull with questions being answered. I hope and wish yall and anybody else who freely offers help the best and hope that GOD be with you all and keep you safe all the days of your lives. Yall be safe out there and I hope to see yall sometime during my truck driving career or off, either way. Have a good life.

Good Luck.YukonMark Thanks this. -
Well preplan cancelled... might have to do with it taking 6 hrs to get unloaded... oh well I am only getting 6 hrs back tonight and have 3:49 remaining for the week... so if I sit here until 6am I'll have a fresh 70

I'd sit and get reset.
