OK, here is my week not 2nd hand information. Started empty at Rockport,IN loaded in Rockport to Sauk Village,IL then deadheaded to Burns Harbor,IN about 15 Miles that went to Evansville ,IL I took 10 at the house and had my trailer PM,ed. Loaded at lewisport,KY about a 6mile DH to Acworth,Ga tthen DH to Nocross,GA about 25 miles loaded there for O'Fallon,MO DH to Granite City,IL loaded there for Kenton,OH took that to the house over the weekend . I am often preplanned one load out. This was all metal products and payed over $2.00 a mile. I don't understand why some likt to explain their failure on the system or insider drivers. Yes as in any Company there are drivers that are given preference most because they can be counted on to get the job done. I don't know if any of the DM own truck and don't care. There are L/P that show up each week and you see guy,s turning in trucks every week thats trucking. You have to have your big boy or girl pants on to work here. You make your own decisions how to get there when to get there what you are gonna do next when to fuel where to fuel when to sleep. No comuters or qaulcom I only text my DM my loaded and empty info He will text me back and ok or thanks and thats it. Freedom is a great thing if you can handle it. I normally have brokers calling me before I am empty one technique I have used that has worked is to ask them what freight do they need to move it may not what you want they will remember that and I have had them call with a preplanned load in a few hours. You can make if you run and make smart moves. Thanks

well, everything, the brokers, what the freight rates are and where their freight is-running lanes.I was with WTI for 2 years and i never sat and we had freight everythere my main haul was in rusellville,ky at logan alum.i live in west ky and know its a great freight area.i done some figures as far as all my expenses at 1.50 a mile +fsc x 2400 mi week witch is low for me use to runnin 28-3500 wk so im here to work.I read some horror stories about malone but i want to come to my own conclusions. Are the trucks in good shape,10 speed? whats your fuel milage avg,top speed of the trucks.

Sorry I have been gone so long...Had some serious problems at home. My mom is mentally disabled (paranoid schizophrenia) and the court had appointed me her guardian when my dad passed in 06. Not that you are interested in any of that but she had a major setback while I was away and I was basically told I need to be home or my guardianship would be rescinded and her care would be turned over to the state. I couldn't let that happen so I had to hang up the keys.

I gotta tell ya I miss it. I have applied for a part time local hauling job until I decide what I want to do. I don't know if I will get the same enjoyment from driving local as I did over the road. I'm considering trying for a B&B (bridges and buildings) job with the railroad since it would still use my cdl and previous experience with earth moving equipment, or maybe going back to school for my welding certification and getting a pipefitter job, cdl is a plus there to.

Anyway it was a great ride and I wouldn't trade it for anything. On the upside I get to spend more time with the family...here's hoping they don't put me in te loony bin next to my mom hehe.

I'll still be lurking around. Peace.
