Quick check-in...Just got back from our first trip home (stayed out 15 weeks) and we're currently on our way out to California. We came back monday and have been running ever since. By Monday afternoon we'll have over 6,000 miles in for the week with a day and a half to go. We did 5,500 right before we went home plus got another $150 installment toward our school reimbursement so things are definitely going well.
US Xpress...my experience so far

Flood: Just curious... on the USX website it says o/o's get paid on a sliding scale (I think). (1.20 0-200, .96 201-400, etc). Are these miles on a per trip basis? Or is it all broken down for that one trip... (ie, from Philidelphia to Seattle is about 2800 miles: is it 1.20 for the first 200 miles, the .96 for the next 400 miles OR are you paid .83 per mile for that whole trip)?
I AM NOT LOOKING TO BUY A TRUCK AT THIS POINT!! I have a lot to learn before going that route for sure. I'm just curious how that works. And as O/O, how many miles do you get with USX? How much do you spend in fuel per week? (average).
Thank for the info!! You have really helped us out for making our decision on who to start with!! -
mt miles + loaded miles = total miles for the trip, mileage rate is base on total miles
so 2800 miles @ .83 = $2324 plus fsc
as to how usx run their o/o i can't say because the deal i have is NOT MILEAGE BASE i'm a percentage base truck so for us it's not about millage it's about what the loads pay. by contract i can't say what i am paid but i will say my avg for last year was over $1.50 a loaded mile and this years is better, the down side i don't get paid mt miles, stop pay, layover pay and my fsc is not the same.
fuel use is the biggest thing right now with the runs we have been doing we use about $3.500 a week that's for 6400 miles but with usx fuel discount smart fueling and fsc i have not had to spend $500 for fuel in the last 6 monthsSTap Thanks this. -
wow!! I just did some basic math and get a rough idea of what your looking at. (Real rough). Need a really good accountant for all those deductions/ depreciation... Etc.. Maybe after I get some serious miles under my belt ill look more serious into something like that!! Um, one more question: what is fsc?
