SAD that there is no standard for training of radio techs
The FCC can't police them and local goverments can't set rules for FCC standards so the consumer is stuck .....
Not that the old licenseing did much but at least you had something ... to go after ..

You're probably hearing skip, especially if it's on channel 5 and they use roger beeps after every sentence.

yep channel 5 and 6.

Haven't heard them on 6, but wouldn't doubt they'd use it...channel 6 seems to be mostly the African American's 20 kw channel. I have heard the Spanish running on channel 3.

I hate to ask a stupid question but ,what is 20 kw channel ?? I might be getting a little mixed up I have heard the same on 6 . Am i hearing skip ?? It sounds real close and a lot of power puts my meter in the red some times.
