Never have I been so disgusted with a company.Worked for them exactly 21 days. In the shop with 3 different trucks 17.5 days.paid for 4 of them, they took back the $200 orientation pay,the reimbursement of $217 for me traveling there from Las Vegas, and the drug test and physical out of my last check. Still I am fighting for the rest of the days brokedown, and you know that was at my expense,at least so far. The left hand never knows what the right hand is doing, even though they are side by side there!

Let's see. You were with them less them a month. You quit and you want them to still pay you for orientation, travel expenses, and a drug test? Yes, you had truck problems. What truckdriver hasn't had problems with a truck/dispatch? You need to get out of the truckstop and off your CB and actually work. Yea, you say you have worked 29 years, was that as a Truck driver or a steering wheel holder.

A steering wheel holder is a unprofessional person in the drivers seat.

A Truck Driver is a profesional person that takes pride in what they are doing. A Truck Driver is a person that understands that sometimes there are things that just happens. A Truck Driver doesn't push blame on "the truck" they agreed to drive or "dispatchers" they accept problems and work through them. A Truck Driver admits when they are wrong or shows other they are wrong. A Truck Driver doesn't go some place and cry like a baby because somebody "hurt my feelings".

If you owned a business would you pay them these expenses if they only worked for you for 3 weeks? I've retired from trucking due to a stroke. I've been out there. I've driven through snow storms, rain storm, hail storm, etc. and through the night. Don't think you are talking to some green horn or some kid. That is one of the problems out there. Too many steering wheel holders and too few Truck Drivers.

Are you a Truck Driver or a steering wheel holder?

Actually,I paid for all of it,Travel to and from Las Vegas,Nv. The company ,if you can do basic,7th grade mathematics, had me pay them to work for them. After 29 years,2.5 million miles, accident free, would NOT put me,or anyone else,in the class you term "steering wheel holder." I am not here to be referred, judged, nor classified. Just stating facts, not speculation.

Remember, you only stayed there 3 weeks. Did you try talking to the office staff or the safety officer before you just left? If you didn't let them know how you were feeling they aren't going to read your mind.

I worked for a company out of East Peoria Ill. and they gave me a piece of junk truck. Went in asked dispatch if this the truck they wanted me to drive when they said "Yes" I told then I'm turning in my 3 week notice, dispather caught up to me before I reached the truck. They found me another truck. Another time they gave me a crappy truck I wrote everything that was wrong with the truck in my log book and that it needed to be fixed. They had the truck in the shop red tagged with the list of problems that had to be fixed before being used again or face DOT.

As a driver it's your responsability to make sure it's safe and operatable. They tried to move you into a working truck 3 times. If a driver drops off a truck and doesn't report problems how is that the office's fault? More communication less "I was looking for a job when I found this one, I'll just look again" mentallity.

In my 25 yrs and 3 million miles I found most companies deduct orientation costs (phys, drug screen, travel etc) if you quit before a set time usually 90 to 120 days. In every case I was informed of this policy up front. As far as this company goes I've not heard much good. Not judging you personally but experience has no effect on whether or not someone is a steering wheel holder or a profesional driver. I know folks with less than 5 years exp who more profesional than some with 20 yrs exp.
