Finally arrived after 29 hours of travel (if I weren't completely broke, I would absolutely have flown instead). Checked in. Only smoking rooms are available (hotel all booked up for some kind of convention), but they've promised to move me to a non-smoking (aka breathing) room if one opens up. I picked up a salad from a nearby restaurant and bottled water from the gas station.

My entire plan for the rest of the evening is a hot shower and a good night's sleep.

    mje Thanks this.

Nervous is good if recognized and used to be sharper and cautious, not jittery and allowing one's self to fall to outside or self-imposed pressure...

    My tips:
    - nothing needs to be there so bad you need to risk your job or life over it
    - GOAL as often as needed
    - when backing, never THINK you can make it when KNOWING is only a 53' walk...thinking can cost you your job and career
    - GOAL as often as needed
    - make friends with dispatch on the phone, not just over qualcomm
    - GOAL as often as needed
    - use your mirrors like your job, innocents on the road and your life may depend on it
    - GOAL as often as needed
    - do not let others pressure you, one day you'll be as good as they think they are

Did I mention to GOAL as often as needed?...

I also highly recommend asking for as many LTL runs as soon as possible to build the real skills you need...
