2006 Freightliner Century
515 Detroit
The fan will not engage . I replaced the following
1. Air cylonoid on the fire wall
2. Fan switch on the top of the air dryer for the AC
each of the 2 mentioned parts have a small harness with a plug if I pull either plug the fan will come on and run continuous . If they are both plugged in it will not engage even if AC is on high .
I just got a code the said HVAC - HI and a 46# if I reset the code it comes right back but no fan still . Anything thing I'm overlooking such as HP Sensor - LP Sensor is all this connected to the big engine fan in some way ? could it be a broken wire
at a loss need help

The fan I'm speaking of is the large out side engine fan
-
The code is
HVAC
Sht Hi 146s001 03 -
146 is EGR from when I was talking with the Service manager in Fargo at Freightliner. When I go into the manual, that code is coming up as EGR, but I can't find the 001
It's not the latest manual...
But the one I am referencing has this on the front cover. And since it's a "2004" manual, hard to look up a code for a 2006 truck.
US MARINE Thanks this. -
Is the HVAC connected to EGR ?
Now as far as code goes that's the code that comes up on my dash on the on board read out which is prob different from the book I think it is any way -
The manual I have relates more to the EGR system. I am still trying to find all the supplementary books that go with it. Hard to find on the net for free.
Working towards just buying them though.

the 146 is the EGR system identifier though. that much is standard for all the years that were there.
Have you been idling the truck a lot lately? I had a similar code to your (06 emission DD S60EGR) that was coming up Delta P sensor plugged. From a night of idling it after the APU belt failed. It was 90+ with 90+ humidity and the AC was a must.
I started to drive it and the code went away. Near as we could figure it all out, it blew itself clean. -
No I don't idle - APU.
My issue us my engine fan won't come -
Checked HVAC fuses = all good nothing blown
-
CDTC sensor ? Anyone know where or what it is ?

I'm guessing the high pressure switch for the HVAC is bad, when the head pressure on the A/C compressor get too high its supposed to turn on the fan.
