What they dont know wont hurt em is how I roll. Just make sure you are not hacking anything apart and do a professional job and everything should be OK. I am pretty sure they do NOT have APU's. When I was a co. driver I put a couple inverters in a couple different trucks n they never knew so no problems...
-
I think there newer trucks have an apu. But I could be wrong
-
They do not have APUs on any fleet trucks. There are a couple hundred with Auxiliary Cooling units that run off the trucks batteries. They were a test to see if the company wanted to use them. They stopped ordering them on new trucks though.
As for inverters, Company policy is nothing over 180W and no permanent installs. They will install a 400W inverter for drivers who have Sleep Apnea so they have a place to plug in their CPAP machines that run on 120V.
Modifying company equipment without permission is a good way to end up fired if they catch you. -
Ike's new truck had a apu on it in the youtube video
-
After looking at his videos, his Prostar at Butler Transport an had APU. The Cascadia he has on there has the A/C system on it that very few trucks have.
-
So they are ok with idling? I have been out of trucking about a year so I know everyone was very dead set against Idling
-
They are about to equip all trucks with ambient sensing technology to stop idling if the outside temp is greater than - 20 and less than 70.
-
Fuel is every company's highest expense.
-
No need since the newer CPAP machines run off the Cigarette-Lighter Adapters...
