Are you talking about TDDS in lake Milton, OH? If so, try Great Lakes in Columbia station, OH. They pre screen, but they figure out a way to get their students hired. They're also a preferred school of schneider, as well as about any other companies.

If he goes Schneider, just tell him to make sure he divulges everything. They're weird like that, about hiring people that others don't. But, he'll have to make it through Schneider training and be up front with them.. Plus, as a starter company, the culture is pretty cool.

Oddly, having a few things on your record can keep you out of companies that you may later find out .. would have been a bad choice anyway, lol. It did for me anyway, and it sort of guided me into a pretty good career path.

One note on Great Lakes,, you should probably be a more outgoing person. Quiet/shy types seemed to have a harder time there. Some instructors are retired old school drivers, so they let you know when you're doing something wrong. Any military exp would have you well prepared, they like ex military a lot there. You're better off if you have thick skin, and can joke around and get along with guys like that. Reminded me a lot of my dad and his friends, so I was right at home and had a great time, lol.

Im not a trucker, but im intersted in becoming one. Im almost 40 with no career prospects. Trucking is a sure way to put my little ones through colledge in abot 12years from now. The only thing i have against me is a pending felony charge from last year when i caught thier mother with someone else, she wanted me out of the house so she called police and said i stabbed her with scissors. Even know there was no stab wounds (only self inflicted nail cuts on her fingers ) they charged me with agg assault and cruelty to children because my 3 year old was home. Ive been denied a good factory job because of this already. Does anyone know if this will ially keep me out of trucking? The worst part is this charge has been used to keep me from my children who i haven't seen since the day of the incident, 1 year ago. Another reason i need to make trucker type of money.
