In the radio manual there should be step by step instructions, its in the plastic bag with the truck's service manual. But heres the jist of it.
Assuming we all have the same stock units (DEA355) in the 2013's here it goes if you havent paired a BT device before:
The Phone:
It varies from one device to another, but basically under BT settings all phones have what is called "pairing" mode or "add device". When enabled, it begins to broadcast a signal that will allow other devices (i.e., the truck) to find and link up with it. It usually tries for 30 or 90 seconds at a time.
The radio has a similar search function that needs to be done at the same time:
Power the radio on, and press and hold the menu button on the right until the screen changes to "Main Menu- Clock"
Use the up and down arrows to find "Handsfree". When handsfree is displayed, Press "ok" (preset button 6). That selects the handsfree menu.
The first setting is to enable BT, use "ok" to toggle it to on. Then use the arrows to scroll down to "add phone" and press "ok" This enables the radio's search mode.
When both searches are enabled your phone should say something like "DEA355 Radio wants to connect, ok?"
Select yes and the radio should display "PHONE CONNECTED" then the model # of your phone.
From now on all you should have to do is turn on your phone's BT and the radio will find it automatically. I turn mine off to save the phone's battery, obviously I always have the radio's BT turned on, you can tell by the little BT icon on the right side of the display.
Again, the name of your phone (usually the model #) will be displayed on the radio when it finds it. Hope that helps-JeepGuy Thanks this. -
