Not saying it's a bad thing it can be very helpful at times. I just don't think I'd want an eight hour loop. I would only want 5 min. worth of storage. Because if you go to use it in court the opposition will look at the whole thing try to pick you to death. I'm not saying you're a bad driver by any means but no one is perfect including myself. That's why if I have one I would only one of 5 min. worth of recorded data.

If you use a dash cam and your not IC, you should get permission. Maverick might not want their business recorded.

Guess you hadnt got wind of the rumor they were thinking about it lol. No idea if any truth to it but I know some companies are already doing it to monitor drivers as well as defend against accident claims. My bro-in-law drives for a company that does this. I dont like the driver facing camera idea but I can see a small part of their reasoning that it absolutely keeps drivers from using the fons to text etc.

I don't believe in cameras facing the drivers. That takes away all privacy and that's part of the reason we do what we do for a living. Enough evidence comes from other means to determine whether or not a driver was or wasn't doing his job properly. No driver wants his FM or anybody else being able to watch him all the time. I don't have any problems with dash cams facing out the front. There have been many times in the past when I wish I already had one.

I'd rather see a phone where texting is disabled when the ignition is turned on.

Hadn't heard that one yet...I don't have a problem with a dash cam. But, I also opt against the driver facing one.

I was talking with a guy who just came out of orientation the other day. He told me Maverick had plans to install cameras in the trucks. I think it's all part of a plan to capture video for a new reality TV show "Lizzard Wars"

yep one of the drivers i was on the dac with did a presentation at one of the quarterly meetings but at the time was put on hold. Dunno if any Mavs are testing any systems now, its been 3 years since then but it wouldn't surprise me.
