Peel it off and move it over. Not a big issue at all. Worst case, someone "knocks my mirror off" at a truck stop while I'm in the shower shortly before I turn it in. Lol. Just kidding.
-
There was a driver that had the little magnetic one velcro'd on the top of the pass. mirror. I didn't know who it was to ask about how his reception was though. Mine is just on top of the cb and it also get horrible reception going north or anywhere in w. va
-
I did the CB thing for a couple weeks before switching it to the mirror. Chose the drivers side because on a T700 it sits about 6 inches further forward so in my expert figuring can see a little more sky around the cab. Used an adhesive pad which should peel off and clean up fine when it needs to. Sealed it around the edge with a little silicone to make sure it stayed on in wet weather. Ran the cord down behind the mirror inside the casing. Then zip tied it to the arm as I ran it into the truck. It is a pretty clean install for the most part, and took maybe 15 minutes. Reception is much improved over the top of the CB, but still has a little trouble on occasion. Not perfect, but definitely tolerable.

I'm still looking to find where the factory installed satellite antenna is. Does anyone know we're Kenworth put the antenna? I followed the antenna wire out of the radio it up the passenger side. Up by the speaker but that's where I lose it.
-
the mirrors are not symmetrical? I never paid attention. if you guys are using the little antenna that comes with the radio then you are never going to get really good reception. you need a better antenna
-
Nope, the mirrors are not symmetrical. I am using a small aftermarket antenna, and works pretty well. Just had no clue where to mount one of the big ones.

I'm sitting in Cartersville so I looked around at different antennas.
Saw this one mounted on a T700.
this is a cascadia but it would work on a 700 too.
the T660s are easy.

Cooper09 and MojoPotatoe Thank this. -
lol the first pic is of my trainers truck. That location works pretty well on the t700, you can see the location it was before right above the windshield, I wouldn't suggest putting it there as the truck will block the signal a lot.
L.B. Thanks this. -
Were you there? I didn't see many people there except for the new class on break while I was transferring my crap to my new truck.
