USX drivers...how's your day??

LOL I beat ya to it! I called in today and told them I wasn't coming back from home time! My co driver wants out of teaming and wants to run solo. And from what I've gathered from many solo guys things can be rough as far as mileage and pay blah blah. That's something I can't afford to risk right now. And with all the BS That goes on with USX I just don't think there's any better option than to part ways. I have a family and big important exciting things going on at home that makes it hard to miss out on and hurts my relationship with my fiancé when I can't be around for important things. Just not worth it anymore.

I have a good friend who works for Roehl and he's extremely happy over there. Tells me a lot of good things (I know it's case by case and its word of mouth) but he's a good guy and a straight shooter so I would like to think I can trust his judgement really well. He also has a wife and kids at home so we have that in common to know how it's like to need to get home and such. I may be going over to them next Monday. Orientation I guess is in marshfield IL or Gary IN. I will find out more on that tmw. Planning on running NE regional with them. From what I hear their NE regional guys stay busy and bring home some good pay and home 34-48 hours every week. That is a lot better than 4-6 weeks out at a time!

Of course Roehl is plan B if I can't get in with this local tanker company I will hopefully have a interview and road test with sometime this week. I applied with them back in late spring and got a call to come meet for a interview but I had already decided to come on with USX since I hadn't heard anything from them. Recruiter says my app looks good and he thinks the terminal manager will want me to come in ASAP so there's hope! I would love to sleep in my bed everyday and spend my spare time here with family rather than a truck stop! Now if I was single that would be a totally different story!

I hate to leave as I'm not the quitting type or a jumper but family always comes first I just gotta do what's best for them that's all it boils down to! I will still be hanging around here no doubt about that! Keep in touch everyone

Hey guys, hope everyone is safe and well...
My week didn't really go as planned, only 1600 miles 1200 of which was one trip that ate up a huge chunk of my week having to sit on it over 24 hours during the weekend trying to get it delivered. Lost 2 great loads in the process of waiting too
They finally let me drop that load in Shippensburg and gave me 2 loads for today. One from the yard to south Pittsburg area and then a live load in north pittsburg area headed to Shawnee, OK.
I got to the shipper which was out in the middle of nowhere and pulled thru the gate to find myself in an Amirish lumber yard that was pretty tight off road terrain. I'm thinking... Em this is flatbed type stuff here, how did I get this load and why is Exxon buying this basic wood when they could get it closer.

I finally had a lot lizard knock on my door and offer her services. Well she was trying to get to Indiana and needed the money.
My question now is when I send my Mac7, how do I list this and what do I do about a recipt to scan?

we needed a extra fuel stop so they ok'ed the loves in hooker, ok. when we were company drivers i always had then send it on the dt so i had a record of it if they tried to charge us for fueling out of route

 

We have fueled Hooker, OK. Nice small truck stop. Only 4200 miles last week. Two 34 resets in 4 days. This week is not looking much better. Hope things improve quickly. Our new FM might need to be replaced.

 

Hey all. Hope everyone is well and having fun out there. I had a interview this morning with a local company that hauls tankers delivering fuel, gas and other oils all around NY and Mass. They offered me the job! I'm real excited to have found a local job that I can still make excellent money (55-60k first year) and be home everyday! Leaving USX Monday turned out to be a good thing! Lol. I will be starting next week once I get my physical and drug testing done which will be no problem. I can't wait to pull some heavy tankers. Gonna be mostly over 100k all the time from what I'm told.

I knew today would be a good day when I went out hunting this morning and shot a big mature doe. She will be mighty tasty!!
