and you have nothing more to worry about than my spelling skills, which actually are more my typing skills than spelling but to each there own.
yes you stated your opinion. I stated that I disagree with it.
How much experience do you need? That depends on who the person is but more than a year for sure. Not to mention that statement you quoted was more advice than an insult.
I never said nubies want to hit things and destroy equipment, I said they DO. Don't even try to challenge that unless you have data contrary to everything I have ever seen.
Now, am I a jerk? most likely, I have heard worse. Do I care what you think of me? not a bit. It's been a bad week so possibly I am more critical than I ordinarily am but I hate these big companies and the way they are destroying this industry. So if you want to go and spend your life honing your skills and experience only to go work for some company that will pay you chicken scratch and expect you to spend 90% of your time away from you loved ones totally destroying any chances of a normal family life.... well then you go ahead. be like the other sheep who are enabeling these companies. I guess we can not expect more from any of the new guys seeing as how none of you know how things used to be, all you know is the current state of things.
I've been driving for almost 13 years but I've been in this industry a long as I can remember. I've seen the height of the owner ops and the small family companies. I've also see the downfall of them due to cheap ##### companies. When I was younger I saw my family go from a very comfortable life with a dozen trucks to below poverty levels when we lost them. So have fun with your cheap company, and when you can't support your family you will have no one to blame but yourself. Personally I'll stay home and work outside the industry before I work that cheap.
Like I said I did talk to them so that alone says I thought they were good enough to talk to but I can not abide a company who wants to offer the unskilled trainees everything while paying squat for experienced drivers. That speaks volumes in my book

Just to clear up this segment of Eastyrider, Cutloose, and MedicineMan's Cowtown arguement:
I googled "cowtown" and that led me to Wikipedia, the internet's best encylopedic source of information. Their definition of "cowtown":
Cowtown
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Cowtown" is generally thought of as a smaller town, another word for a "hicktown"
It also sometimes refers to towns that participated in the beef industry in the late 1800s and that had many stockyards, slaughterhouses, etc...
The Webster's New Millennium Dictionary of English defines a "cowtown" as:
"a small, isolated, and rather unsophisticated town"
Cowtown is a nickname for:
Calgary, Alberta
Fort Worth, Texas
Hamilton, New Zealand
Vacaville, California - Although 'Vacaville' can be translated from Spanish to English as 'cow town', the city actually takes its name from one of its first modern-day inhabitants, Juan Manuel Vaca.
Cowtown is a former nickname for:
Chicago, Illinois
Kansas City, Missouri
Dallas, Texas
Columbus, Ohio
Cowtown may also refer to:
a museum in Wichita, Kansas
a song by the band They Might Be Giants
Cowtown Rodeo in New Jersey
the Cowtown Coliseum, an arena used for rodeos in Fort Worth.
It should be no surprise that many locations across the globe have been dubbed with the nickname cowtown. Clearly, the point here is that Fort Worth is the number one location in the United States to hold this honor.
As for the matter of poor grammar and spelling: If it's soooo important for you to "make your point" and prove each other wrong, then is it too much to ask that you proof read your comments before clicking the "submit reply" button? Seriously, I'm sure you're each intelligent individuals, but you do yourself a huge disservice when you don't take the time to clean up your posts! If you don't appear to know the difference between "They're going to the movie", "Their dog is lost", or "you should park the truck there", then do you think any of the other readers who this forum is created for, expressly for the purpose of sharing industry information, are going to believe you have any credibility? I think not! It would be preferable for you not to fight amongst yourselves but if you must, at least attempt to do it intelligently. Please! -

Stay away from DeBoer. Crappy equipment, crappy benefits, crappy pay, crappy contracts, wayyyy too much time going back and forth to Chicago. Oh yeah, they short your miles too. I took a trip to Idaho with a return out of western Wisconsin. They pay you like you were on route 20, but of course your fuel stops are on the interstate. I ended up driving more than 400 miles for free, I don't like driving for free. On a positive note, Wisconsin is absolutely beautiful just about any time of year.

couldnt agree more, this place is hell. junky trucks, miles fluctuates way too much from one week to another. and this bone you on pay as well. im looking to get out and move on...
