I spent 10 months as a company driver with this company. I was recently asked when I came to the yard to take a load out to Denver from Dallas with only 25 hours left of my 70. Owner was forcing me to take the load and said I could do my restart on the road. My restart is my only home time I explained. I also explained I had no problem with doing any of our other loads that we have that would get me back in. He replied I either take this load or it was gonna be considered a refusal and therefore I was not going to have a job any more. I choose to stick to my guns and they had me clean out my truck, in which I did. This company has a high safety rating with DOT, there pay is only 32 cents a mile, only home time they allow is during a 34 hour restart. They "hound" you if your sick and need the time to get well if you don't come into to drive. When them their selves ( office personal ) take time off for being sick. This company as in all companies is under all the laws of DOT, Federal, State, County, City. They have you take the random DOT drug tests as required. And will terminate if one does not pass which is suppose to happen. My point here how is it allowed that owner son which is company planner allowed to work with the laws that everyone is suppose to abide in allowed to be on company time, company property among the scurinty of the DOT and all other laws allowed to be "High" and carry Pot on him self, and selling it to other employees or his friends or "buyers" while at work? This company gave me a bad DAC Report, the report said I refused to be dispatched and therefore I voluntary quit. In which is "NOT" the case, as explained above. Fellow Drivers I urge you to stay away from this company, there is so much more to complain about, but this message is just the start of it. God Bless you All and Happy Trails.!

Unless you had some kind of contract specifying that you would get home, they are right, you refused a load. If you want to be your own dispatcher, you have to own your own truck, and might have to have your own authority. As a company driver you must do what the company needs to be done, and sometimes it is not what you want. And if that happens too often for your liking, then you need to fiind another company, or suffer the consequences of your actions, as you now have.

As for the pot head, if it really bothered you, why haven't you called it in to the Police in the past?

They dispatched you on a load that you refused to take, then they say on your DAC you refused dispatch. How are they wrong?

Jumbo as a "Normal" this company always got you in to do your restart un-less driver said they would do restart on the road. As a normal they would let me after going to same location once already during that 70 hour time frame would let me run the remaining hours of service left to other locations and be back to restart at home. How can I company force a driver to do other wise when there policy of going home is only on their 34 hour restart, answer that question?

So if you ran from Dallas to Denver and back when you got back to Dallas they wouldnt have let you go home? Usually they get you home for your restart, but this time they dispatched you on another load that needed to be covered. You offered to take other loads that got you home for your reset, but also left the original load they dispatched you on uncovered. You refused to pull it and they said "Take this load or clean your truck out". You cleaned your truck out and they put on your DAC that you refused dispatch. They werent forcing you to run illegal, just not get your reset at home. It sounds like they are force dispatched. You didnt like their policy, you stood your ground and they let you go.

No, I would had to wait till the next reset or whenever they now were suddenly going to dispatch me. I did address this to the owner that next restart am I gonna be forced to take my restart on the road or will I be allowed to go home. His answer was it all depended on dispatch. This company is a company with same freight, same routes, same routinues that all drivers are use too. However now you now either took what they offered you or you paid the price.

You refused a load. End of Story. If you have such a great desire for hometime, then what are you doing in the trucking industry? It's not for you.
