I have a family and lots of hobbies and stuff and a truck that's all paid off....i would like to putz around the midwest mostly and take it kinda easy, lotsa time off (maybe 8-12 days a month). I'm wondering, is there a minimum amount of revenue I would be required to make on the schneider choice program? I was with a different company where they wanted me to bust my butt. Getting bossed around and working alot is not something i want to do as an o/o! thanks

well i worked for Schneider on the choice program for 5 years when i went to them my truck like yours was paid off and to answer your question it should not be an issue as far as time off however their new new work flow program may be a challenge still a lot of bugs also i did make good money while there it was and is a good program if they quit messing with it. what you should also be aware of is when you take a load you del the load if they have to repower its 500$ to you for repower
Zangief and fooomanchu Thank this. -
Yea kirk32216, i hear a lot of bad things about workflow but if all the good things about choice i hear are true, it still will be better than anything else out there i think. i was considering landstar but without really knowing a lot i dont think i want to have to deal with brokers over the phone and all that stuff. Anyway thanks for your input!

I've heard if you don't meet certain requirements then they'll move you of choice and onto system think it's minimum miles you have to run

Well moosc if thats true i guess it's landstar for me! I'll run my truck off the side of a mountain before i have someone dispatch to me again

Not true,if you don't run it's your paycheck. The issues of work flow have been worked out and I have been on it a couple months now and I like it better. Makes the choice board better for sure. Been on choice over 2 years and all they want to know is when you go home and when you plan on coming back out. They could care less how long you run or don't run.

Hey thanks. By the way is there any way to explain to someone who is not on workflow how it makes things better? All i know is what i have heard secondhand, and a lot of it is bad. My goal is to find a company that does not meddle with me every second. The way i see it, if you are my company all you need to know is that I will make the pickup and delivery on time and when I will be available for a new load. You don't need to bother me every step of the way with petty b.s. and also I do not want people trying to send me loads as suggestions. Leave me the F alone!!!
anyway thanks for the help

Workflow in the beginning sucked, it was a new way of communicating our moves thru out the loads lifetime, (accepting thru delivery). The company drivers and legacy program O/O's were put on it first. It had lots of steps and lots of bugs to work out. The choice O/O's are being moved onto it slowely. I was put on it a couple months back. Once you understand it and how it works it is very easy. Basically all point and click on your touch screen, much faster than the old macro way. Again at first alot of people struggled because it was not working properly. If your on Choice no-one sends you loads, you choose them. They are very hands off on the choice drivers. I go weeks without ever calling in or being called. I only call in the event of issue with a load.

with regards to work flow can only comment on what has been said did not have the chance to work with it but as for the rest in regards to work etch5858 is dead on its your game your money all in all schneider ic choice is still a great program you will be happy if you go that route good luck
fooomanchu Thanks this. -
Thanks ETCH5858. Yeah I guess I heard a lot of weird stuff that wasn't quite true both about workflow and choice. The program definitely sounds like just what i need...gonna start making moves monday morning! thanks for all the help!
