Our corporations like to keep us in the dark. Why not share specs between continents . Let the customer decide what
kind of truck they want. I'm sure someone in the US wants a euro Coe , and someone in EU wants a hood. Paccar makes both, what's the diff!
6x2 information?

Oh 100% with you there! There's so much to be learned both ways !
Corporations would love to keep us in the dark, being vocal through forums like this is how to get changes made.Last edited: Oct 20, 2012

Once you can take the weight off the tag and transfer it to the drive you'll be fine, it doesn't have to lift completely, weight distribution is everything on a tag, centre lifts are the same as 4 wheel tractors, no difference but rear lift does work, I can take a few pics for fifth wheel position for you if you like.
This is a pic of a heavy duty Scania 6x4 double drive, you can tell by the hubs in the centre of the wheels that both axles are driven, this rear lift modification is for extra traction on Nordic roads in winter, they wouldn't do that if a 6x2 had less traction!! http://www.olengen.no/Produkter/Bilder_ATFD/B7523-A.jpg -
I am pretty much sold on the idea, it perfectly make sense. I am already let my dealer know about the change, but it would be nice to see the fifth wheel position on your European trucks. Although I think it must be on close to the center of the tandem, like here. You can slide the fifth wheel on these trucks? By the way, the tag axle is already an option, but so rarely used, the dealer even has no price on it. He will call the Paccar head quoter next week to figure it out.

verify if u can haul full weight in ontario in bc and mb u cant go over what a single axle can haul

Who cares what it is if it gets the job done and keeps you happy

I saw a swiss registered Peterbilt many years ago in Belgium with liftable tag axle, it looked like it was factory made.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

This is a tandem axle with the 40,000 or 46,000 weight limit.

I'll take some pics for u as soon as one of the tags come back, the fifth wheel is positioned just behind the centre of the drive axle and they do have a sliding fifth wheel.
Like magoo said check ure axle limits where you live and make sure it has weight transfer on it otherwise you'll suffer traction problems on ice. They won't suit everyone but def are lighter on fuel, -
