I read that Schneider doesn't allow inverters except the ones you plug into the cig lighter. No microwave, fridge/freezer, etc. for teams or solo. I can see how a solo driver could live without an inverter but a team? If Schneider is worried about drivers hooking up their own inverters incorrectly, they could have the mechanics do it. It sucks because everything I was reading about Schneider sounded great. Oh well. Guess we'll go with USX or somewhere else that allows inverters.

    Look at drive4us.com

Their tractors are hardwired with 1500 wt inverters & lots of other stuff. Click on "Equipment".

    Another : navajo.com

Their website has a email feature; click on "Contacts", and ask them about tractor features via email or phone. They also hire recent grads.

They have inverters, hire recent grads. Also click on "Driver Application" to request team driving with wife. You can also choose to run regional or 48 states & Canada & Alaska. Team pay is .50 cpm. Motel pay for layovers.

I have a plug-in cooler in my truck. And a warmer too, so I have a lot of options. Granted, I'm solo, but it works for guys I know who drive team, too. But microwaves, definitely not. Just the way it is. Good luck, though.

And with the ambient temp sensor you'll need to unplug it so it doesn't kill the batteries

Definitely. Though for a team, this wouldn't usually be too big of a problem.

The only thing I turn off is the Webasto heater.

If the only obstacle is the inverter then i think you should reconsider the other companies you mentioned and stick with Schneider.Schneider is a Good company and alot better in my opinion than the possible other options. I have cooked in the truck and it sounds all good and well now but believe me after a couple weeks you and your wife will be tired of it. it can get messy everything in the truck begins to smell like food, theres the extra storage space that the food and items take up. The cab is small enough as it is let alone for a Team then add in a fridge, cooking gear, microwave, food, utensils, cleaning supplies etc..... As a Husband wife team thats been there done that our advice is a plug in cooler and prepackaged food that you can run into the truckstop and heat up when you dont feel like eating out. Good Luck and hope you make the best decision for yourself.
