Sounds like you don't even want to from the post above. You tell us... will you? No sarcasm or disrespect intended.

I can't address this from a legal standpoint, but let me give you at least a little encouragement.

I have a friend in CA...he's a bit older than me at 55. But two years ago, at 5'6", he hit 301 pounds. Now, my buddy is probably the least athletically-inclined person you will ever meet, and I'm being serious. He was diagnosed with CHF and a host of other issues, including being pre-diabetic.

It scared the living hell out of him.

Eight months later (yes, eight months), he was down over 100 pounds, off of CPAP, no longer pre-diabetic and not in CHF. He is now carrying just 145 pounds.

My point is if HE could reverse his condition, perhaps you can to. At almost 52, weight is a huge struggle for me. Just when I think I've got it managed, bingo....the loss stops and I get aggravated.

I wish you the very best. I noticed you're only 38, so you've got time.

loosing that weight and being in shape is not "bs" its the key to living long and enjoying your life. You almost never see fat or smoking old people. If all you care about is that card your cazy it wont do you much good 6 feet down in a box.

I had a heart attack(complete with helicopter ride) 12 years ago.I was 5'9" 355lbs and when I was cleared by my cardiologist and my family Dr.to return to work three weeks to the day I was released from the hospital, but my employer said the DOT told them there was a mandatory 90 days off to heal, then I had to pass a DOT physical, and retest every year for the next ten yrs. I've done all that, and had bariatric surgery too now I test every 2 yrs like everybody else. I'm not trying to sell you on anything I'm just saying that IF you want to continue to drive you will have to follow the ever changing rules, and you will have to do what ever works for you to meet the criteria of the day.

yes im well aware that weight has a ton to do with it, but at the same time i also have other medical issues. im working on the diet but maybe sometime off the road i can get back in shape. But then again with all the crappy regs and everything else is it worth it. ive got 12 years out here and nothing except for the trucks have improved. i know back on the road right now aint a wise choice so hopefully i can take the time to get my health on the right track. thanks

Good grief trips! According to your profile, you are only 38 years old? If this is correct, and not a typo, you are still VERY YOUNG! Way to young to give up on life!

You are wanting out of trucking. GET OUT. Even if you can get back to it, there is no point in spending your time doing something if you hate it.

If your diagnosis of CHF is correct, (and I would sure get more than ONE opinion on that,) there is not likely to be a recovery from it. There are things that you can do that will help you, things that will prolong your life. Be guided by what your doctors tell you.

Only you can make up your mind what you are going to do with your life. Nothing anybody else can say or do is going to make a lot of difference. It IS UP TO YOU.

Trips84, please listen to what I have to say...I am in phase 2 of CAD along with Fibromyalgia, and I live off of 16 pills a day ( 1 blood thinner, (2) beta blockers in the am and 1 beta blocker at night, 1 muscle relaxer, 1 nerve pain killer, (2) 1000 mg of Renexa for chronic angina, 81 mg of aspirin, (2) 75 mg of zantek, (2) buspar, (2) zoloft, and 1 simivastatin. This is my every day life from here on out and it sucks, but I don't have a choice. I have to live for my husband and my children. You are the most important thing to your loved ones...and it is time to work on things for yourself because they need you the most.

Please take it from someone who had cardiomyopathy, and the fluid went straight to my heart which caused it to double my heart in size and stop beating. I was brought back, and rushed to Critical Care where I was on a ventilator fighting for my life..I was 28 years old..and this was from having gestational diabetes that was never caught, and they kept giving me fluid to stop my preterm labor. The day that I was to have a C-section, they gave me 2 - 500cc worth of fluid, and my body could not filter it out because my organs were shutting down and it went straight to my heart. The cardiologist said, "You basically had a heart attack." In 2008 I had a heart attack at work, and was transported by ambulance where I went under heart catherization, and received 2 stents in my left vein(the widow vein) due to 90% blockage. In 2011 I had another heart attack and received another stent in the back of my heart due to 95% blockage. In September 2011 I threw a blood clot, and because I called 911 and received heprin at the hospital they dissolved it before it went into a full heart attack again. I also had to go through a 3rd heart catherization to make sure that there was no blockage, which there wasn't.

STOP!!! Head my advice..work on you first because you are 38 just like me..and mine is hereditary. I have changed the way I eat, and I exercise when I don't hurt because of the fibromyalgia, and I am still working on the nasty habit of smoking. I now go to the cardiologist every 6 months, and I go through a full panel of blood work every 6 months. If you drive OTR, you are taking a chance of developing a blood clot because of the lack of mobility..so if you feel better eventually I would suggest driving local. Please don't go through the things that I have..because driving a truck just ain't worth losing your life for.
