Schools, like any other business, will charge what they feel the market will bear. In the case of "trucking" schools, this is usually the maximum they can bleed out of the state or social welfare programs (WIA and the like). Its all about supply and demand, and right now plenty of people are demanding commercial drivers licenses (even if they aren't actually qualified to drive commercial truck due to criminal records of horrible driving records).

A lot of the price is the amount of hours and what they are actually teaching, some schools I think have simulators to drive also. It is a far cry above the concept of the cdl mill schools such as CR England and others. I am sure it must be better than the blind leading the blind that is going on now.

I paid $7,500 with interest with Roadmaster in Tampa FL in 2006. Depends on the region.

There are some of these schools that are paid for by social programs, unemployment, prison inmates, etc. Tes hey make enough of the states and local governmants that they do not care about regular students.

There is nothing they can teach a new driver to justify 3000 hours. Thats just crazy.

I don't see how anyone would need 4+ weeks to finish...
I just finished a three week course with C1 and felt like I was ready after the second week
Some people learn slower than others, so I could understand three weeks, but four??
