But they are not operating separately. Thats why you see Western Express pulling SMX trailers and vice versa.

the using of others trailers really doesnt mean anything-creates more d/h hopefully, but how smx drivers seem to only pull western trlrs is the question-it was like they raided all our new light airslides overnight?in my opinion western has run smx since the offer was made.rumors have been flying about corporate inpropriates for awhile now.alot of good veteran smx drivers have been fired for refusing western (brokerage loads?) to the northeast which we havent run for about 5 years and now the fuel network is changing.whos running what?????

I have hauled other companies trailers before. What I am talking about is terminals and yards closing or being changed over and operations being consolidated.
Like when Swift bought out MS carriers. Or USX when they took over PST. -
the only yard i know of thats closed is birmingham al because we both had 1 there and smx was the smaller.suppossed to be a 1 year guarantee of employment for office workers

Yes it is forced dispatch. Western hired me when other companies wouldn't. Worked from them from March 2009-March 2010. The plus side is your dispatcher usually has only 40-50 drivers on their boards. It's a decent company that not too big to know ya. Lot of water, paper, and pet food loads.
