I just got put into a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia. It has 2 antennas on bird perch mounts. Does anyone know how the coax is run? Is one ant for the cb and one for the am fm radio? I want to upgrade the antennas but would like to know what Im working with. Thanks in advance for any help.

I've asked several CB guys and they all attest to the fact they run in parallel as far as the CB function goes. There are "splitters" somewhere to feed the Bunk TV outlet and the FM radio but they all swear the antennas need to be properly matched for "good" CB performance. They use the absolute cheapest coax they can find to save a $2.00 on a $140,000 truck ... go figure.

On our fleet the left (driver's side) is the CB, the right side is everything else.

Also there is a antenna tuner in the dash behind the gauge panel. This is the place to start you will need to adjust the tuner after you change the antennas.
