Okay so I'm looking for advice from drivers who have had experience with Schneider or know how things really work on the inside.
Here is a little bit of info about me:

I'm single, no house, no car payment. Only thing I have to pay for is the insurance and gas on my truck.
I don't care about home time.
Basically, I want a company that will give me miles and basically run me ragged, within legal limits of course :biggrin_25525:
Wanna make as much as I can out there.

So recently, we had a Schneider recruiter come through my school and give us the spill.
She told us Schneider drivers get great mileage, ranging from 2000-3000 miles a week single and teams 5-6000, which is good.
Good benefits after 90 days, good equipment, etc.

So I wanna know, is the recruiter telling us all lies like most people say recruiters do? Or is Schneider a good company to start with?

Also, for reference, I'm also considering Roehl, G&P (apprenticeship program), and maybe Covenant.

    Any advice out there drivers?

Here's 2 companies that haul freight between the lower 48 & Alaska :
    systemtrans.com
    fairchildfreight.com

    48 state running :
    Navajo.com

They take online applications & hire recent grads.

Schneider isn't a bad choice at all. Not sure what G&P is, but one thing is for certain, stay away from Covenant

    Agreed.

Also, just make sure you have reasonable goals in mind... Sounds like you probably do. One thing I'll say is that for me, Schneider was definitely the best choice I could have made for my first OTR job. Good luck to ya.

    Hello,
Schneider was my first choice after getting my CDL. I have been here 4 weeks and so far it has been good. I am averaging 2200-2500 miles a week. Have had quick responses via Qualcomm and phone with the few issues that have come up. I run the Western 11 regional out of the Fontana CA Operating Center. I love the workflow on the Qualcomm, much nicer than sending a dozen macros in. My truck is old, 820,000 miles on her, but I expect to get a newer one sometime. Some of the other people in my class got 2009-2010's, mine is a 2007. But she runs good and I have had few problems with her.

See my other threads about what to expect through training and such. Any questions feel free to fire away. I don't get on here everyday, but I try to at least 3 times a week.

    Stay safe!

    razorbladez Thanks this.

I went with SNI after I first got my CDL right after I turned 21. I've been with them for a little over a year now and don't have anything to complain about. I got a brand new 2013 Cascadia about 4 months ago, last 4 weeks I've got clear over 3000 miles per week, never had a problem getting paid, etc.

Can a current schneider employee give me an idea as to how much the medical, dental, and vision cost would be for a family? Also, at their center do they have showers and gyms?

They have different plans for medical I choose the max I think its called. I also took extra life insurance cdl insurance and full medical, dental and vision for family of four was like $150 a week I think it was maybe a little less and that's the tobacco rate for two.
