Need help identifying a Cat 3406

    thanks again, and your right some sharp folks on the forum. mine leaks at the bottom of the small cover the air comp. bolts to. i tried some sealers but that's a tight area to get at. can the oil pan stay in place and i could block the jack under it?

    I got rid of my last truck because nobody could tell what exact model # cat I had. Always was hard to find a part because they kept getting the wrong ones. All I gotta say is good luck. Been there and done that.

    Yup, the oil pan can stay in place and you can block the jack under it, that's what I did the last time I had the front cover off to do the timing.
