Bloomburg is a bald-faced liar too... on one hand he's saying the government shouldn't have to protect us from ourselves while on the other, he's legislating limits for use of salt by restaurant chefs, drink sizes and making victims of every law-abiding citizen who can't carry a firearm to defend themselves against armed criminals.
BAH...
Huge storm coming! Anyone one have any driving advice besides " dont do it."

make sure you dont run your diesel down low in case TS's lose power
and your stuck somewhere
other then that you drive in rain and wind like any other time
make sure your reciever is even open before you go to place like staten island which might be evacuated
I sat in northern Fla just watching the rain go by because I had called ahead and knew the Coast Guard had shut down The Port of Everglades during hurricane Isaac -
FYI, there's a 4-8 foot storm surge predicted for Baltimore. -
The company I haul for is keeping me home until wednesday. Once its over im sure I'll be hauling the generators out to areas with power outages. New York and New Jersey are in the bulls eye. CT RI and my state of Ma are already in a declared state of emergency. Anyone thats going out in this mess please be careful. Avoid the area if you can. I dont need to flip on the news and see reports of loss of life on the road, especially when its a fellow trucker. \May the good lord keep you safe.
Rocks and Mommas_money_maker Thank this. -

i have watched the water flow under mine in Wanchese B4lorha1159 and mamamullins Thank this. -
A good way to get on television is to drive through high water. Then crawl to the top of you trailer and wave to the cameras. You can also get a free helicopter ride from the coast guard. Just remember it is the governments responsiblity to make up for your stupidity. George Bush should have planned for this so Obama would not have had to.
Make sure you have in your truck candles and matches, get trash bags or plastic bags of some kind to keep your emergency gear dry. Keep canned foods and a can opener in your truck. Have 7 days of supplies on board. Water is very important. You may have to provide shelter for the public. Remember big trucks do not handle well on snow. Park into the wind. Idling is approved.
Of course with this much warning, get out of there.
If it does come down to it, a tip I learned from studying the Donner Party was that the best part of Aunt Susie should be eaten with just a hint of garlic.mamamullins, scottied67, ladyfire and 1 other person Thank this. -
