Well, Just like everything else in life we hit another snag ! over the last month we ( son + I ) have been talking to swift recruiter -- Tim Esteban --- And our story to him was that my son would go to orientation ( Laredo TX ) --- 10/30/2012 -- Mentor and then lease a truck, in which when he came home I would drive for him as a team driver.. My son has two yrs time with a cdl (A) , I'm retired ( early ) but have gotten a cdl permit. So when the boy came home , I would drive with him some just to get the feel back , take the test and off we go !!!..
So after a week of not being able to get up with the recruiter, to make sure we were still on the same page .. Found out this morning that the recruiter is gone !!... So talked to the new one and told him my story, with the understanding for the reason why we were trying to do it this way, as not to mess up my retirement .. Now he is saying that --- *I* ---- will have to go to orientation to just to drive for my son ?? We were hoping to keep everything in my son's name and he just pay me----- My question is what kind of paper work will swift make me fill out as to were uncle sam can see !!!!!

you know if your driving and have an accident and you are "under the table" aka not in the trucks insurance/papers/elog your son will be fired and you/son will fined heavily.

you can be a rider only.

You can still run with your son and have him mentor you. Swift does this all the time. However, as others have said, you will have to attend orientation, be assigned a driver code, and do all the other little things a normal Swift employee does. But....the truck gets paid team miles and your son pays you.
If you're only being paid a buck a week 'cause you love your son, who are we to say otherwise?

It wont work L/P means Swift owns the truck not your son. You both will be employees of swift
