The COs that were on Iwo while I was there were Lt Allen and Lt Cronin. Didn't care for Allen but Cronin was an honorable man.

Ya, this would have been their boss. I know he was there almost his whole officer career, once a LT at Marianas? I don't remember, but I think it was before your stay. I will have to ask him. I still have contact from time to time. he lives over on the windward side of Oahu.

Just wondering what you all mean by no inverters. My dad drives for Werner and he has a 300 watt inverter in his truck that he runs his TV off of. Did you mean that you can't have a big one wired in so you could run a microwave with it? I also ask because Werner is where I plan on starting my career this summer. I am interested in doing the Dollar General run because I don't mind unloading the trailer and the pay seems to be decent.

No inverters, meaning an inverter that requires direct connection to the battery system. Most 300W inverters can be plugged into the cig lighter power outlets and are fine to be used with 99.99% of companies. They are good to power about 1 device at a time, and thats about it. I could power my TV with one, but not a VCR or Playstation or Sat receiver with it, just the TV. I had a microwave, Crockpot, and desktop computer also, so I required more power. Mine is a 3000W or something like that. Its about 1.5 ft long. LOL If these are installed wrong, its a MAJOR fire hazard. Companies that do allow them, most of them require that THEY install them properly to make sure its done right. Other companies like Schneider does not allow them because they reserve the right to grab the truck within mins, and it is too permanent in that respect.

How are you wc5b? Went through Schneider Boot Camp before Xmas and been on the road with a trainer since just after Xmas.
Should be on my own in a few days. When it comes to inverters, the way I understand it is that the 12V outlets in the truck supply 180W max nomatter what size inverter you plug into them. I think there are 4 12V outlets so you could use up to 720W as long as no single appliance went over 180W. My trainer had a 450W inverter to plug in a standard 120V TV because he said a lower wattage inverter would start beeping even before the 180W max was utilized. Anything you want to add before I buy myself a $30 Cobra 450W inverter?
