Tonight I'm at the Pilot in Lebanon Junction. At least it looks like I've finally gotten away from the rain.

Although unusual for WalMart, I was able to get my drop in New Albany MS off a day early. My final in Clarksville AR doesn't deliver until tomorrow (Friday) evening at 1845. Soooooo...Where better to spend the time in between than a place I haven't been to in 3 weeks...AT HOME!!!. Technically, my home time doesn't begin until after I get back from Clarksville. Since I live relatively close to NLR, I'm staying home until tomorrow afternoon then it's only a 2 hour ride out to Clarksville, probably 3 hours at WalMart, then 2 hours back to the yard.
Congrats to Ultrikeflyer and all this weeks new Maverick drivers. I saw them all this morning when I got to the yard. -
Finished second on my board for fuel.
Also was notified that I won the $500 drawing for dot inspections for the third quarter!
Made it home this morning. Way too much drama this week...loljxu417 Thanks this. -
Well it's been an interesting time on the road. The first week ran up and down the Eastern seaboard. Then picked up in upstate New York for Richmond Virginia for Monday. I stayed the weekend at Colonial Heights and every 10 min. on TV got the update on Sandy. Delivered Monday morning and couldn't wait to get the heck off the coast. They sent me a load to pick up that Gladys Virginia going to defiance ohio. I think to myself sweet I'll get away from the #### hurricane. I get loaded and I head towards Ohio make it to West Virginia about out of time and it starts snowing. Get up to the morning 7 inches of snow on the ground across West Virginia at about 35 mile an hour with one Lane open and snowing like heck. Make it the Charlestown at the road finally just got wet. Nothing but rain and high winds all the way to delivery. That had to be one the largest storms I've ever been in. Reloaded out of lipstick Ohio going to Alabama finally got out of the rain in Kentucky. Reloaded out of CMC at Birmingham going to Iowa. Made it home Friday at six o'clock. Went to church for fish Fry will be leaving on Sunday afternoon for delivery on Monday.
Have a great weekend, drive safe and enjoy the ride. -
Yeah, I was on the OH Turnpike just South of Cleveland when it hit. They banned doubles, triples, and Oversizes off the Turnpike. There were 60-70mph wind gusts and ALOT of rain Monday night. I was on my way from USS in E. Chicago, IN to Nextech in Pittsburgh/Turtle Creek, PA that night. I would have been able to get all the way there but decided to shut 'er down with just over four hours left at the Towpath Travel Plaza on I-80 just South of Cleveland. Seemed like just about everyone got off the turnpike around that time too. It was very very windy. My Wife and Mother both demanded that I pull over! HA! I already had.

I delivered a Black Hat's load in Little Rock yesterday morning then delivered my load in Clarksville last night and made it back home around midnight. Now I'm off until Tuesday then I'll start my next 3 week stint. It's still a good gig and I'm making more money than I did in flat bed by $200/wk.

Thanks Rick and to all of the other members that guided me in my choice to go with Maverick!
Meeting up with my trainer on Monday evening at Zero Mountain in Lowell, AR. to begin my journey. I'm looking forward to it and just hope I don't cause him to grow to many grey hairs while I'm learning. I will post as often as I can to update everyone.
And Awaaaaay we go!
Drive Safe!!!!!!
