Does anyone have any experience with this scanner? I picked up one last week to monitor my parameters and be able to pull my codes which are always being thrown!
The only problem I'm finding is the codes aren't anything remotely to what I can find online for my '98 N-14.
Also, I know that my speedo reads high which in turn makes the odometer read about 3% higher, but the ecm is I guess maybe compensating for this and actually giving me the actual numbers on the gauge. Any ideas why that would be? I was under the impression the ecm provides all data whether it be to the dash or the scangauge.

    Frenzy Thanks this.

I'm glad to see that BullyDog has some competition now. $169 for a j1939 / j1708 scanner is a great price.
Stock speedo's are always set to read about 5% higher, 50mph real speed will read as 52 or 53 mph on the speedo. This doesn't (or shouldn't) affect the odometer reading.

It has some really neat features. I was gonna spring for the BD, but for the price of this I'm getting the same thing. It's also customizable. The only down side to it is you can't run programs through it like the BD.

Check with Scangauge to make sure you have the right software for your rig, if not the codes are going to be whacky. The ecm is factory programmed which is always the biggest problem if its been worked on and reset to an older/different company code scan system.
Get one you can reset on the fly if you keep having problems after checking you have the right software and matching codes for the way your rig is set up now.

I got experience with the Scanguage when I got one for my Jeep Liberty Diesel a few years ago. It is a real nice product. Highly customizable to show you what you want to know. It is difficult to compare the Scanguage to the BD gauge. BD offers several features that the Scanguage doesn't have. Like being able to change the governed road speed. Not an issue with most folks, but those that run Ontario a lot like to change their governed speed back and forth when they cross the border. If that isn't an issue, then the Scanguage is the way to go. It will read and allow you to clear fault codes just like the BD does. If the mandatory speed limiter issue becomes a regulation in the US, then the BD might win out over the Scanguage. One could change the governed road speed at will when they have reason to believe that some scale house is doing spot checks.

I agree, it is a good thing that BD has some competition. Now maybe they will start adjusting their prices lower. I doubt that it will be very soon, though.

Problem is BD doesn't have a unit for the N14 and they won't build one either.... I asked them at MATS last yr.

That I did not know. Thanks for that info. Looks like I made a good decision. Any idea what a custom tune would run me for the N-14?

It would be good idea to make a custom dashboard based on LCD screen ore tochscreen for cars and trucks, that use CAN ore datalink data
