Not qualified because of work history ( My wife thinks its discrimination )

I know what you went thru, I had to call people who knew me and ask them to verify that I was looking for work at a certain time and also had to verify that I was on unemployemt benifiets and or getting help(money) from family to survive. Due to 9-11 incident the trucking industry wants to what you(us) was doing, because we would be travaling place to place and could be hauling certain cargo that could be dangerous to the public. It was all most my road block as well but I got thru it and you can too, so if it is still some thing you want to do just as family,friends,cashiers where you bought stuff, people you hang out with any one tell them why you need their help and it would help you take care of your family and it would let them know as tax payers your not wanting them to pay your bills etc,,,, I DID IT!! you can too. I hope this encorages you to re think your decision...

Iwoukd try another set of companies. There is a guy at school right now who hasnt worked a day in 8 years, for the same reason you haven't. His wife suggested he becoma a stay at home dad. He has pre hires with a bunch of good companies.

 

FMCSA rule 383.35 requires 10 years employment history. This would include school [some one under 30 would not have 10 years other wise]. They probably don't want to go through the waver proses. Prime only has about 5-10 instructors that work 1 on 1 with a student for 4 weeks. So they have a lot more students that would be easier to qualify. Seance you are in Bakersfield, check the local schools they will be able to help you with the co. around there. You will probably be happier starting local than staying out 4 or more weeks like we do. And don't say unemployed put down stay at home dad and explain why

 

Make up the dam* work history, it's not like they ever call your former employer...

the purpose of "work history" is to show your past driving experience with different companies (get those naughty outlaws off the road)

and also show that you are not an illegal alien and stuff like that

if you have no work history (ie staying home, or just being a bum in the street) how does that mean you should not be trained and hired?

 

I have solid employment history for the past 23 years, however the last couple years (2 separate incidents) I have had a total of maybe 5-6 months of unemployment due to being laid off... anyone see that being a problem?
