Folks.....I'm in Midland TX...& we work out of Schlumberger / FracTec...'n other oilfield companies doing driveway moves. Understand this; If this post is correct...Schneider is paying MORE than all others. I will personally be on the phone w/them in the morning changing jobs. We ( EAGLE ONE HOT SHOT ) are paid $17 windshield time...& .50-.60-cents per mile depending upon Haz non-Haz move. We dont' work. WE DON"T GET PAID. Also...all the time in the commute van is NOT LOGGED...try 900+ miles & see how save you feel.

I truly hope the poster is correct....it's exceptionally easy work...unless you want to pay your bills.

Sounds like they are hosing you pretty good. Being paid for days you don't work is OK. But the rest sucks. I make $1.08 a mile plus $15. hr detention after 2 hours. Had 1 load last week to Loving , NM. 477 miles plus 27 hrs detention. $920.16 for 2 1/2 days including deadhead home. Then off for Thanksgiving. Good weeks will always be $1500-2500 gross. Then you don't worry if you are off a few days. They are charging just a little less then companies like ours and taking out on you. LOL We drive 379EX Petes w/frig/sat radio/microwave etc. C-15 550 hp, 18 spd. 70" Unicab. Not as easy to maneuver on site as shorty Shakers, but lot nicer on the road and when you do have down time. If you are happy then that's great. But this sand costs between $5-25 per lb. You often have over half million-million dollars back there. You ought to be paid well for moving it. The carriers sure as Hell are.

With a private company out of Weatherford that is leased on with Tuttle, GTI, Tidwell. We run mostly legal. Stretch it once in a while. But that is what keeps frac operators calling. They aren't into crew changes and such in middle of a frac stage. Not that hard to run legal if you keep you butt in the seat and out of the truck stops.

Haven't been in ND for 4 years rates at that time were $116 hr. to the truck. Have spoken to several drivers who have been there in the last year rates have gone down a bunch 90% have come back to Texas broke. ND is not friendly to out of state companies that's only an observation based on Texas companies that have left for lack of work. Same is true with WV,Pa,and Ohio. To many trucks brings rates way down not to mention Schneider,Swift and Oakley are slashing rates in the areas they operate in. The days of $100,000 to the driver a year are long gone except for a few exceptions. I don't see those remaining with all the competition. I've hauled frac sand in WY,UT,CO,ND,NM,PA,WV,AR,OK,LA and N,S,and W Texas. The company I work for has yards E.Texas, Central Texas,AR,CO,NM,K and their opening one in ND although I don't understand why. The oilfield has changed a bunch we used to get $100 per hr. demerge now we're lucky to ge $55 or $60 for the first 14hrs. then we have give them the next 10hrs. Although we have 1 or 2 contracts that pay the 10hrs. at 1/2 rate. In the 9 years I've been hauling frac sand my income has dropped 50%. All due to competition you can make a living, but in most cases you won't get rich. If your thinking of CO. unless you've got serious mountain experience by serious I'm talking 10 to 20% grades on one lane gravel roads I'd stick with eastern CO. Just a suggestion I've been there it was fun and very enlightening but not for everyone. If your thinking of this for a career do some research it's not over the road. Lots of county and unpaved roads long days when they want your sand doesn't matter if your on your 10hr. break your going to the well so be informed of the career your anticipating

Dude.. I hear you. I'm looking for fair stuff, ( prolly stupid ) but spoke w/a compnay out of Dallas.w/new eqpt. & liberal wash policies. I hate trashing nice, new stuff. SCREW SCHLUMBERGER.. et:al It's horrifiing to see what they do with brand new, ( i MEAN from the Pete Factory in Denton ) trucks. #### It...run'em.

    I guess...if a Frac Pump is$800K...what's a fricking $100K tractor worth...?

    Nothin'.
