Nothing he showed there would constitute Line 4....washing, general maintenance, lube-oil-filter.....mechanics aren't the same in this industry as say....aircraft mechanics, along with the time required to document the work performed and certification to perform those maintenance issues.DrtyDiesel Thanks this.

Ethan can't be too smart, have you ever met a smart Ethan? I didn't think so. In fact did you know that your supposed to all time talking to Ethan as line 4? It's true. They did a study on that, I'd post the results but I can't find the study. It doesn't mean it didn't happen, or that I'm making this up. I wouldn't do that. Have fun in prison, let me know where you get locked up. I have a degree in Criminal Justice, maybe I could pop on over and chat with you in your prison cell.otherhalftw and DrtyDiesel Thank this.

melton, the safety man, can you help us resolve this issue
how is an elogger supposed to log scaling a load that from start to stop takes about 30min? -
Just log it as you do it. takes 3 minutes to scale or so right? Log it. The rest of the time where you're hanging out and not actually scaling, don't log it. Try to minimize the amount of time you spend logging anything, but keep it realistic. Like don't log a fuel/PTI/scale in 2 minutes. On the other hand don't log 42 minutes for a scale because you the guy in front of you didn't have his comdata card activated. you're not working, you're just wasting time.
That's how I'd do it. Unless you're talking to Ethan, then on duty time.DrtyDiesel and otherhalftw Thank this. -
I understand, but none of the things I listed have to do with on duty tasks.
Allow me to also clarify that when I say working on my truck at home or at a terminal, I mean things such as airing up tires, replacing windshield wipers. Things of that nature. I'm not rebuilding the engine or discovering a new planet.
Washing my truck doesn't seem to fall under any actual maintenance other than cosmetic. I understand if I were to say I log a pre trip without getting out of the truck, or not logging fueling.
Sorry if I came off as not real smart, but I don't agree with logging certain things, especially when you're home.
Ethanotherhalftw Thanks this. -
You should also use Clean Diesel, it's better for the environment.
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
Hey now I am hoping Meltom takes the job over at that flatbed carrier and then he wouldn't be in charge of E-logs.
The less he talks about them the more he will learn not to like them....
7-UP Thanks this. -
I think they're awesome if you need them. But not everyone needs them. Still going to pass on that job, maybe in a few years I'll move over there.volvodriver01 Thanks this.

Alright, if I scale a load then I'll log on duty.
But like Meltom said, why would you log on duty while waiting in line? You're not working. You're going inside to pay for your ticket.
Also, when I talk to myself do i need to log line 4?
Ethan
