    Hi Everyone,

I am a new CDL driver (had my license about 3 months). I also own a tractor and stepdeck trailer. I have been using this for my own hauling and it has been local. Now that winter is coming, and it will be too cold to work outdoors, I need to haul OTR.

My current insurance only allows me to drive up to 500 miles (radius). I am based in Northeast Montana, so this wont get me too far into Wyoming, and there just isnt enough freight to keep food on the table at that rate.

Does anyone have any experience with insurance companies that will insure for unlimited miles to brand new drivers that are O/O (and have the MC).

    Thanks,
    Guy

    Thanks Already there,

I know progressive only does up to 500 miles in the state of Montana. I will try and see if Hallmark operates here.

Contact OOIDA for help on this. It's the Owner-Operators Independent Drivers Association.
    Google for their number.

Yw... I didn't know Progressive put different radius limits from state to state, I thought they use to nationwide. I have Prog. with unlimited radius. Every time I pass through Montana I see a total of three people:biggrin_25524:... They insured this first year CDL/OO 26 yo kid in the fourth largest city in the US. Why not MT?

    Good luck!

Would you mind sharing how much all your insurance costs per month/per year?

I used to drive several years ago. I have one year of experience. Are there any owner operators out there looking for drivers? Thanks.

Contact some intermodal or drayage companies & you will probably find one.

Would a company give me information on an owner operator so that I could get in touch with them?
