I just want to share a letter I just wrote to T/A corporate with the other BCO's out here.
Re; Invoice #224 136459 $56.97
I just left your shop at this location, and I feel I need to make a complaint before I start to drive, so as to cool off a little. I am an owner operator with Landstar, and I stopped by this afternoon for a pipe for my exhaust. I told the girl when I checked in what I needed specifically. I waited 2 hours to get called in, then the mechanic asked me what was wrong. I showed him the pipe, and he said yep, you need one. He called Volvo, found they couldn't get one, and so no work was done. I was still charged $56.97 for check and advise. Check and advise what??? I told them what I needed. Your shop did nothing but steal $56.97 from me, plain and simple.
Not only will I no longer stop at this location for any reason, but I will go out of my way to warn every other Landstar driver I know to avoid your place. There is no reason I should be charged for work that was never done.
I don't know how you can sleep at night after ripping off hard working people such as myself.
O.k., now I understand what check and advise is, but they never did that. i was in the shop less than one minute before they were done. Ii have gone to T/A's many times over the years, and when I tell them what I need, if they cannot do it, I leave, no problem. Not here. There was nothing to do. I told them what was needed. Needless to say, I won't be going there again. I just thought I would let you know. It's your choice what you do with the info.
Stay safe out there.

-
get used to it.
i spend $500 on average just to walk in the door. compared to car shops. deisel shops are a rip off.
you can't even get a hand shake without some sorta charge. -
It's easy to say until you're in the same place. I cannot afford to have my truck towed when I'm arrested for theft of services. So, I let corporate know how I feel, and I try to let the rest of you know what happened. they may have won this little battle, but they lost me as a customer forever. In the end, they lose more that I did, for sure.NavigatorWife, NWMAXI, aiwiron and 1 other person Thank this.

Thats why you pay for everything with a credit card and then after you have left, call said CC company and dispute the charge...You will be credited immediately and the TA or whoever will have to fight it out with CC company..As long as you dont abuse this service and you are a good long standing customer the CC company will automatically take your side.....OT hello fellow Leesburgian!

Word of mouth goes a long way, esp if anyone else reads this.
We also were not pleased with Montgomery, AL TA a few years back; they didn't do any work thankfully, just didn't act like they wanted too so we left. -
I would of complained to the manager of the truck stop and refused to pay. That is a load of crap and they know it.

i dont use truckstop garages unless it's a last resort. even oil changes or greasing. a cheap grease gun and a clean spot in the lot(yeah i know dang near impossible to find a clean spot) and 15 min and your done.

hey i just noticed im from weirsdale florida just north of leesbury by about 25 minutes i used to be a mall rat back in the day lol

When you pull into their shop, you're on their time, don't like it, don't go in there. While they spent 5 minutes jacking around with you, they could of been working on someone else's truck that WOULD pay. It' not their fault the no one had the part, you should of checked to see if they had the part before you pulled in the bay. After all, you said you knew what it was.
