Bah what a kick in the junk.
Been pursuing a position at Kearl for the better part of a month now, got through to HR today and directly sent resume and references.. they sent me back a hiring package and even told me what rate i'd be paid, what position i'd have and where i'd be staying.
Got an email shortly later..
"sorry all positions have been filled"
The problem is they wanted PDFs filled out and i'm in a backwater little town right now with limited internet, no faxing capability and no way to edit a pdf so I can email it back.. ffs. what a kick in the junk.
I am trying hard to get up to suncor, syncrude, kearl, ft mkay etc.. it just doesn't seem doable right now.
This job I was after would have been great.. 14/6 or 10/10 or 32/10 for rotations, 8 hour days + ot starting at 31.54/hour plus wapasu accomodations, everything paid for and return flight to either calgary or edmonton, either would have worked since i'm in the middle at Red Deer.
I paid for my CSTS today too.. was in the middle of it when I got the email.
I hear all this anecdotal evidence of how people just show up and are offered to do as much for as much as they want.. I'm here to tell you it isn't true. -
Sorry to hear that! I'm hoping the job I'm pursuing works out too....

What was the job with Kearl?

Bad luck - just seems like a result of being in the boonies.
