Need to rent a truck for 4 hours

    I live in Chicago and I need to rent a truck from someone to take my cdl class a test I have my permit and some road time in a 13 speed freightliner. I am willing to pay

    i was actually kidding, i didnt think you would take it serious

    yes, i have a 53', is it really that difficult? i know a friend of mine who rented a truck from one of the schools, it cost "i think" about $1,000

    but dont quote my quote

    I was in training with CR ENGLAND and they messed me around 2 days before I was going to take my test. So I am sorta desperate

    if it was me, i would head to a truckstop and offer someone a few bucks (owner operator), i am sure it will be less than anything a school would charge you

    Yes, it is that difficult. I moved from CA to IL and they require you to take the driving test to get your CDL when moving from another state.

    Sounds to me that the OP is new and I would suggest looking for a day cab with a shorter trailer. Most of the IL testing facilities are not really designed for testing with sleepers and 53' trailers. I have helped many get CDL in the farming community. Now the people coming from the schools have been training on a tight course like at the testing facility. And even they come in with the shortest set-up they can find.

    Ryder and Penske won't work because they you have to have authority to rent.

    I would see if you can find a farmer that will work with you. May have to trade some driving during harvest for the opportunity.
